    The Peshawar High Court Demands Air Blue Inquiry

    An independent board of inquiry for determining the causes of the crash was petitioned by politician Marvi Memon.

    Interior Minister Rehman Malik gave a two month timeframe for the release of the Air Blue report. It still has not been released due to “political pressure.”

    The families have persistent unanswered questions regarding the Air Blue crash in the Margalla Hills in Islamabad. One hundred fifty two people died in that crash in July 2010. As of Thursday, the PHC expects the written submissions (complete statements) from all respondents on the next court date.

    Counsel Omar Farouk Adam requested that the Air Blue Fleet be grounded until the report is made public. According to Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, relief for the victims families must be “fixed” in the inquiry prior to the court ordering interim relief.

    Plane Crash in Central Texas Killed 3 Family Members

    A single-engine plane crashed in a wooded area about 3 miles northwest of Ranger in rural Central Texas around midnight on August 16.

    The accident happened after the small plane took off from Cook Canyon Ranch Airport near Ranger with a 3-member family aboard.

    All 3 people lost their lives in the crash. Fred Biddle with the Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victims as John C. Weaver of Granbury, his wife, Debra S. Weaver and their daughter, Courtney A. Weaver from Plano.

    Lunsford also said that the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.

    Lufthansa Flight Returns to Frankfurt due to Engine Problem

    Lufthansa flight LH-178 had to return and make an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 30th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Berlin, Germany, but had to return shortly afterwards after it developed an engine problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 198 passengers aboard remained unhurt.

    Norwegian Helicopter Crash

    What: HeliTeam Eurocopter AS350 en route from Harstad to Alta.
    Where: near the Swedish border.
    When: Wednesday
    Who: One person killed, one injured. It is unclear from our sources which was the pilot.
    Why: The crash occurred during heavy snow showers so weather may have been a factor.

    KLM Cityhopper Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Issue

    KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1768 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on October 17th.

    The plane flying from Frankfurt, Germany, was descending toward Amsterdam when the crew reported a hydraulic issue.

    The plane landed safely. All fifty-six people aboard remained uninjured.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Serbia

    Lufthansa flight LH-1410 made an emergency landing in Belgrade, Serbia, on July 22nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Frankfurt, Germany, was on final approach to Belgrade when the crew went around due to unsafe gear.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
