    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Jacksonville After Hydraulic Failure

    American Airlines flight AA-1139 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 28th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Cancun, Mexico, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 154 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

    Air Canada Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport due to Medical Emergency

    Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC-895 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on September 29th.

    The plane heading from Milan, Italy, to Toronto, Canada, was diverted after a passenger became ill.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was taken to University Hospital Limerick after initial treatment by the paramedics at the airport.

    What: GCI Communication Corp de Havilland Canada DHC-3T Texas Turbine Super O en route to Agulowak Lodge near Lake Aleknagik, Alaska
    Where: 20 miles north of Dillingham, AK
    When: August 9, 2010
    Who: 8 aboard
    Why: The 1957 DeHavilland DHC-3 Otter owned by GCI Communication Corp crashed on encountering weather. After the wreckage was discovered, two National Guard rescue teams in helicopters were dispatched but they could not handle the weather and their arrival was (expected to be) delayed until after midnight.

    A volunteer team on the ground was assisting rescue efforts and a doctor is on the scene. Half of those aboard the plane survived. Former Sen. Ted Stevens was aboard the plane.

    Croatia Airlines Flight Rejects Takeoff From Zagreb

    Croatia Airlines flight OU-470 had to reject takeoff from Zagreb, Croatia, on February 2nd.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, when the crew received indication of an engine issue and rejected takeoff.

    The plane slowed down safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Transavia Plane Returns to Germany after Engine Vibrations

    Transavia flight HV-9145 had to return and make an emergency landing at Munich Airport, Germany, on June 12th.

    The Boeing 737-700 flying to Lisbon, Portugal, had to return after its right engine started vibrating.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    Delta Airlines Flight Intercepted by Greek F-16 Fighter Jets

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-8957 was intercepted by two Greek F-16 fighter aircrafts on May 19th.

    According to the airline, the radio contact with Greek ATC was lost for a brief period of time when the Boeing 767-400, en-route from Frankfurt, Germany, to Kuwait, was transiting through Greek Airspace.

    The fighter jets returned to the airbase as the communication was restored.

    The flight continued to Kuwait.
