    United Airlines Plane Returns to London due to Electrical Issue

    United Airlines flight UA-935 had to return and make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, London, at around 12:33 P.M. on August 7th.

    The Boeing 777-200 had to return after the pilot noticed sparks and smoke in cabin due to an electrical issue.

    The plane was heading towards Los Angeles International Airport, California, at the time.

    The aircraft landed uneventfully. All 265 passengers and 14 crew members aboard remained safe.

    Qatar Airways Plane makes Safe Landing in Pakistan after Bird Strike

    qatar airwaysQatar Airways flight QR-628 made a safe landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Pakistan, on May 10th.

    The Airbus A330-300, flying from Doha, Qatar, was on approach to the runway when it ingested a bird.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers and crew members onboard remained unharmed.

    Basketball Players Flying Late

    What: ExpressJet Flight 152 en route to Tampa
    Where: 41-passenger plane
    When: Jan 6 2008 – ten minutes into the flight at 4:15 p.m.
    Who: Passengers included Louisville’s basketball team
    Why: The flight had the equivalent of a “check engine” light go off in the instrument panel. The Louisville’s basketball team which was on board deplaned safely after an emergency landing. The passengers were rescheduled for transportation later Tuesday for its Wednesday game; the rescheduled flight took off from Standiford Field at about 9:05 p.m. scheduled to arrive in Tampa after 11 p.m.

    Smoke in American Airlines Flight

    What: American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82 en route from Fort Myers to Dallas TX
    Where: Jacksonville
    When: Mar 30th 2011
    Why: While en route, the crew smelled smoke in the cabin.

    They diverted to Jacksonville. By the time they landed, the odor dissipated. The plane was examined; and a replacement MD-83 was flown in.

    Passengers arrived 2 and a half hours late.

    PSA Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    PSA AirlinesPSA Airlines flight AA-5446 had to make an emergency landing in Albany, New York, on August 10th.

    The plane flying from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, was on final approach when the crew declared an emergency due to smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Fire Tanker Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Chico Municipal Airport

    An aerial fire tanker made an emergency landing at Chico Municipal Airport, California, on June 30th.

    The DC-7 Erickson Aero Tanker took off from Chico Airport but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with its hydraulics.

    Three wheels caught fire as the plane landed on the airport.

    All four crew members aboard remained safe.
