What: Swiss International Airlines Airbus A340-300 en route from Sao Paulo Brazil to Zurich Switzerland

Why: On takeoff, the flight crew reported they had a cracked windshield. They entered a holding pattern, dumped fuel and landed safely under emergency overweight conditions.
VivaAeroBus flight VB-3490 had to return and make an emergency landing in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 16th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Puerto Escondido, Mexico, but had to turn back due to an issue with the landing gear.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Dynamic Airways flight 2D-405 had to return to the ramp while taxiing at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport, Florida, on October 29.
The Boeing 767-200, heading to Caracas, Venezuela, had to abort taxiing due to fuel leakage from one of its engines. The fuel leakage later caused fire.
The plane received significant damage.
Among the 79 passengers and 11 crew members aboard, 15 people sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.

Why: The plane developed a hydraulic leak and returned to LAX for an emergency landing. No Injuries were reported.

What: Agni Air Dornier Do-228 en route from Pokhara to Kathmandu Nepal

Who: 16 passengers and 2 crew
Why: After takeoff, the crew detected a hydraulic leak and turned around to make an immediate (less than ten minutes later) landing.
Apparently passengers disembarked and helped the crew push the plane off the runway.
I’d like to see pictures of that happening in New York. Or LA for that matter.
Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-3011 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan, on August 28th.
The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Islamabad, Pakistan, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was diverted due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Air India flight AI-111 made an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, England, on February 7th.
The plane flying from Delhi, India, was on approach to Heathrow Airport when a windshield cracked.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
