    Two Boeings Bump in Tanzania


    Oman Air Flight 717, a Boeing 737-800 bumped a stationary Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 767-300. The winglet on the Oman Air plane made contact.

    The Oman Air flight to Dar-Es-Salaam and Muscat was only delayed four hours.

    Neither plane reported damage. There is no indication if passengers were aboard either plane at the time of the incident.

    The incident occurred at Zanzibar International Airport, now called Abeid Amani Karume International Airport.

    Updates on Malaysian Boeing 777-200 Crash

    Women are silhouetted as they watch a Malaysia Airlines jet taxi on the tarmac at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

    According to the aviation sources, the investigation teams will successfully locate the remains of Malaysian Boeing 777-200, which was carrying 239 people and was reportedly vanished off Vietnam.

    Ronald Schleede, an ex U.S. National Transportation Safety Board investigator opines that the search teams will definitely find the lost plane, as they have all the capabilities and resources to do so.

    A Vietnamese coast guard commander has said that a potential fragment from the plane was found by a helicopter, 56 miles south of Vietnam’s To Chu Island. He elaborated that the fragmented might be a part of the window or emergency door.

    The air search teams have also spotted two fuel sticks, at a distance of 9 miles from Vietnam’s south coast.

    The investigators say that once they are able to locate the plane, the flight deck recordings as well as other instruments and physical evidences will aid in finding the reasons behind the crash.

    Oman Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Oman Air flight WY-116 had to make an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on October 17th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to Muscat, Oman, was diverted after the crew received a low engine oil quantity indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Plane Returns to Charlotte due to Hydraulic Failure

    american airlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-1783 had to return and make an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 24th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Boston, Massachusetts, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. No injuries were reported.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ottawa

    Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC8953 operated by Jazz Aviation made an emergency landing at Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in Ottawa, Canada, at around 6:30 a.m. ET on August 13.

    Pilots made an emergency landing after smoke was discovered in the cabin of the plane which was heading from Fredericton, New Brunswick to Toronto.

    The flight with 69 passengers and 4 crew members on board landed safely according to Ottawa Airport Authority.

    Air Canada spokesperson Debra Williams said, “Passengers were moved by ground transportation into the terminal and were booked on alternate flights to their destination. We apologize to our passengers for this incident and inconvenience.”

    Air Canada engineers will inspect the plane to determine the cause of the smoke.

    LATAM Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brazil

    LATAM Airlines flight JJ-3484 had to return and make an emergency landing in Manaus, Brazil, on February 10th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but had to turn back due to a technical issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
