    TUI fly Belgium Flight Diverts to Brussels After Bird Strike

    TUI fly Belgium flight TB-5697 made an emergency landing in Brussels, Belgium, on September 14th.

    The Boeing 737-800 Max plane heading from Ostend, Belgium, to Palma de Mallorca Airport, Spain, was diverted due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Jet Returned to Jamaica for Emergency Landing

    deltaA Delta Airlines flight bound for Atlanta had to return and make an emergency landing at Kingston airport in Jamaica, shortly after it took off on June 30.

    According to Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant the decision to make an emergency landing was made after a pneumatic leak was discovered in the engine 2 of the MD-88 jet.

    The plane landed safely. All 149 passengers and 5 crew members aboard remained unhurt.

    Emilio Ebanks, the spokesperson of Jamaica Fire Brigade said that smoke was seen to be coming out of the plane while it was in the air. Durrant said there was no fire in the aircraft.

    Air Canada Boeing Returns to Vancouver

    What: Air Canada Boeing 777 en route from Vancouver to Toronto
    Where: Vancouver International Airport
    When: Dec 16, 2010
    Who: 224 passengers
    Why: While en route, the Boeing developed an oil pressure problem (indicator) in one of the engines. No smoke was reported.

    The pilots returned to Vancouver and made a safe landing. No injuries were reported. Passengers disembarked and boarded another plane which left for Toronto around noon.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in South Africa

    A small plane made an emergency landing on the Lookout Beach in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, on March 24th.

    According to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesperson Craig Lambinon, “On arrival on the scene a Cessna light aircraft was found to have made an emergency landing on the beach and it is believed that the light aircraft may have suffered engine failure while flying over Keurbooms Lagoon while on a pilot training flight from George Airport forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing on the beach.”

    There were two people aboard, including the instructor pilot and trainee pilot; both of them remained unharmed.

    The Civil Aviation Authority is investigating.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Failure

    Turkish Airlines flight TK-1911 had to make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on January 25th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane was flying from Istanbul, Turkey, when the crew declared an emergency due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
