    Germania Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smell of Smoke

    GermaniaGermania Airlines flight ST-3108 had to return and make an emergency landing in Muenster, Germany, on October 5th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Malaga, Spain, but had to return shortly afterwards due to smell of smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 118 passengers and 5 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    Where: Rajasansi Airport, Amritsar
    When: August 29, 2012
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: Jasmeet Kaur, the three year old child whose family had moved to Italy from Kurukshetra in Haryana for her health, fell ill on a Jet Airways flight, leading the pilot to make an emergency landing, but she was pronounced dead on arrival to the Verka Bypass Hospital.

    Arik Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Heathrow Airport

    arik airArik Air flight W3-101 made an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport in London, United Kingdom, on March 24th.

    The Airbus A330-200, flying from Lagos, Nigeria, declared emergency landing due to a technical issue.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Where: Liege Belgium

    Who: 5 crew
    Why: While en route, the plane suffered a fire in the left engine. The crew put it out, dumped fuel and landed back at Liege.

    Who: mo injuries
    Why: Flight FR 9086 from Alicante to Gothenburg made an uneventful forced landing at Billund airport, Denmark due to technical problems. The plane took off normally at 6:55 but diverted to Billund instead of arriving at Gothenburg at the scheduled time of 10:15. Details are scarce.

    Ryanair Flight Returns to Malta due to Landing Gear Problem

    Ryanair flight FR-3775 had to return and make an emergency landing at Malta International Airport, Malta, on October 12th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Bristol, England, but had to turn back after the crew noticed problems with the landing gear.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
