    Pilot Escapes Small Plane Crash Landing in Florida

    A small plane crash-landed onto a driving training track in Geneva, Seminole County, Florida, on November 2nd.

    The pilot, who was the only person aboard, walked away with no injuries.

    The cause of the crash landing remains under investigation.

    Helicopter Crashed in Logan County; Pilot Seriously Injured

    helicopterAn MD 500 helicopter crashed west of Township Road 188 in Liberty Township of Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio, at about 4:45 p.m. on July 29.

    Leo Boucher, 50, pilot of the crashed helicopter suffered life threatening injuries and is being treated at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Boucher works for South Carolina-based Rotor Blade.

    The Ohio Highway Patrol post at Marysville rules out use of any alcohol or drugs by the pilot.

    The helicopter was equipped with an aerial saw and was deployed for tree-trimming and brush-clearing for a bike path. Apparently the pilot lost control of the helicopter and crashed into the tree line.

    The crash remains under investigation by the FAA.

    Mesa Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Bird Strike

    Mesa Airlines flight YV-6259 had to return and make an emergency landing in Columbus, Ohio, on May 18th.

    The plane took off for Houston, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Army Apache Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Leak

    An Army Reserve Apache helicopter had to make an emergency landing in a rural field near County Road 215 in Grimes County, Texas, on January 28.

    The helicopter was flying from Conroe and had just refueled near Bryan-College Station when the pilot noticed a hydraulic leak and decided to make an emergency landing.

    There were two people aboard at the time; neither of them were injured.

    The helicopter belonging to the 1st Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment was repaired overnight and was able to fly back to Conroe next morning.

    Jetblue Pilot Breakdown over Amarillo Texas, Raw Video, Flight 191

    What: Jetblue Airbus A320-200 en route from New York to Las Vegas
    Where: Amarillo
    When: March 27 2012
    Who: 1 medical emergency, 135 passengers, six crew
    Why: While en route, the pilot of the JetBlue Airbus suffered a panic attack. He was locked out of the cockpit and restrained, and another JetBlue pilot who was aboard assisted the first officer in the cockpit as they diverted to Amarillo and made a safe landing.

    The pilot had walked to the back of the plane, and when he returned to the cockpit and found he was locked out, he began yelling “Let me in” and raving about a bomb.

    After landing in Amarillo, the captain was taken off the plane into an ambulance that sat on the tarmac for thirty minutes before he was taken to an Amarillo hospital.

    “Flight 191 departed New York’s JFK airport at 7:28 am ET (was scheduled to depart 6:55 am ET). At roughly 10 am CT/11 am ET, the pilot in command elected to divert to Amarillo, TX for a medical situation involving the Captain. Another Captain, traveling off duty, entered the flight deck prior to landing at Amarillo, and took over the duties of the ill crewmember once on the ground. The aircraft arrived Amarillo at 10:11 am CT, and the crewmember was removed from the aircraft and taken to a local medical facility.

    Customers remain on board at this time. JetBlue is working with local authorities and airport officials for the safe deplaning of the aircraft and will send a new aircraft to continue the flight to LAS.”

    U.S. Coast Guard Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Gulfport–Biloxi International Airport

    A U.S. Coast Guard C-130 plane made an emergency landing at Gulfport–Biloxi International Airport, Mississippi, on June 20th.

    Airport authorities said the crew radioed in, saying that they needed to land at the airport due to smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. There were six people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
