What: Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800 en route from Bangkok to Hong Kong
    Where: Hong Kong
    When: Apr 7th 2012,
Why: Passengers on the Emirates flight disembarked on to the runway after a fast landing where two main tires burst.

Passengers smelled the burning rubber and reported that they saw sparks.

On landing, the brakes locked up, which pretty eliminated the tires and part of the wheel (termed an anti-skid failure.) As you can see in the snapshot, the wheels were ground flat by the friction.

The friction just pours off the pavement in the youtube clip. No injuries were reported.
