    4 Injured in New Mexico Plane Crash

    CessnaA single-engine Cessna 210, coming from Ames, Iowa, crashed during a landing attempt at the Las Vegas Municipal airport in northern New Mexico, at about 6:39 p.m. on July 2.

    The six-seat propeller plane had 4 people aboard at the time of the accident, including the pilot James Fretham, 50 and the passengers Elizabeth Fretham, 49, Caitrin Fretham, 21 and Grace Fretham, 15.

    According to Las Vegas Police Chief Christian Montano, the pilot was airlifted to Christus St. Vincents Regional Medical Center with critical spinal injuries, while the other three on-board suffered only minor injuries and were released after treatment at a local hospital.

    The plane is registered to James A. Fretham of Chanhassen, Minnesota.

    The FAA and NTSB are looking into the causes of crash.

    Turkish Chopper Crashes in Storm on Herekol mountain

    What: Turkish Sikorsky S-70
    Where: Herekol mountain, Turkey
    When: Nov 10, 2012
    Who: 17 aboard 17 fatalities
    Why: Three crew members and 14 police special forces were aboard the Turkish Sikorsky S-70 when it crashed in poor weather conditions.

    The weather was described as heavy fog and rain.

    The official statement by Siirt province governor Ahmet Aydin was that the “… helicopter hit a hill due to unfavourable weather conditions caused by a thick fog and heavy rains.”

    Cessna Crash in Beagle Bay

    What: Broome Aviation Cessna 208B Grand Caravan en route from Broome to Koolan Island Australia
    Where: Beagle Bay Airport
    When: Jan 14 2010
    Who: pilot
    Why: While en route, the pilot received an indication of low pressure and received permission to divert to Beagle Bay. On approach, the pilot told authorities that the engine on his Cessna Caravan cut out at 9,500 ft.. He then undershot the runway. The plane flipped and the engine separated.

    The pilot is being treated for head injuries.

    Aguanga Crash update


    What: Beech V35B, N1587L en route from Chino California to Aguanga, CA
    Where: Aguanga, CA . off Highway 79, just south of the Riverside-San Diego County Line. T
    When: December 20, 2008 1330 Pacific standard time
    Who:
    Why: Plane damaged following impact with terrain while maneuvering near Aguanga, California. The certificated private pilot and the sole passenger were killed. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The flight departed the Chino Airport (CNO), Chino, California, about 1300. The airplane had impacted an open field in a nose low, wings level attitude, on a magnetic heading of 275 degrees. The airplane came to rest in an upright position. The cabin and cockpit areas were destroyed, the empennage was intact, and both wings had sustained structural damage. The nose gear, both main landing gear, and the flaps were observed in the retracted position. The engine remained attached to the fuselage, and the three-bladed propeller remained attached to the engine’s crankshaft. The presence of fuel by smell but there was no fire.

    THY Turkish Airlines Plane Returns to Germany due to Open Cargo Door Indication

    THY Turkish AirlinesTHY Turkish Airlines flight TK-1722 had to return and make an emergency landing at Berlin Tegel Airport, Berlin, Germany, on September 12th.

    The Airbus A330-300 en-route to Istanbul, Turkey, had to return due to an open cargo door indication.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    Private Jet with 9 Onboard Crash-Lands at Marco Island Executive Airport

    A private plane crash-landed at Marco Island Executive Airport in Naples, Florida, on March 1.

    According to the FAA, the Canadair CL-600 was attempting to land at the airport when the pilot noticed a fault in reverse thrusters. The plane was flying from Florida Keys Marathon Airport at the time.

    Authorities said the plane skidded off the runway before coming to stop at a safety zone.

    There were 9 people aboard at the time of incident; one of them was taken to hospital for examination.

    The accident remains under investigation.
