    Tajik Air flight 7J-646 had to return and make an emergency landing at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Russia, on July 2nd.

    Lufthansa Plane Returns to Munich due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Lufthansa flight LH-412 had to return for an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on March 18th.

    The Airbus A340-600 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. There were 286 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-73 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport in Ireland, at around 2:48 p.m. on July 3.

    The Boeing 747-400, en-route from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Atlanta, Georgia, declared emergency after an alarm sounded in the cockpit, warning about a possible fire in the cargo hold.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 392 passengers remained safe.

    Inspection team found no evidence of fire in the cargo hold. The cause of alarm is under investigation.

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-4880 made a safe landing following a bird strike near Sacramento, California, on October 3rd.
