    Indonesian Air Force Bravo Made Emergency Landing in Central Java

    An AS-202 Bravo aircraft from Air Squadron 101 of the Indonesian Air Force made an emergency landing in a paddy in Jogodayoh village, Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia, on August 12.

    The training plane, which took off from Adi Soemarmo at 11 a.m., experienced a technical problem during the flight and landed in emergency around 57 minutes after takeoff.

    The plane landed safely and the pilot instructor, Maj. Surono, and his student, First Sgt. Tama, who were the only 2 people aboard, survived unhurt.

    The aircraft was manufactured in 1980s and was based at Adi Soemarmo Airport in Surakarta.

    Air Force spokesperson Com. Hadi Tjahjanto said, “I cannot yet report anything about the condition of the AS-202 Bravo as we must wait for examination results from the Air Force Aviation Safety Agency.”

    Why: When the pilot realized he didn’t have enough fuel for the Piper PA-24-250 Comanche to make it to Schlemeyer Field, he dodged power lines and made an emergency landing on 87th Street between Harvard Ave. and Rainbow Dr.

    The pilot called for a fuel delivery, and was subsequently permitted to take off for the airport. There were no injuries.

    What: Delta (Skywest Airlines Canadair CRJ-200) en route from Kalispell to Salt Lake
    Where: Missoula International airport
    When: June 12, 2009 3 pm
    Who: 49 passengers and 3 crew members
    Why: While on route to Salt Lake, the plane experienced problems with its landing gear. After making efforts to deal with the problem and carry on, they decided to make an emergency landing at the Missoula International Airport 45 minutes after take-off. The gear lowered and locked and the plane landed without injury to anyone.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Wayne County Field

    The Cessna plane was en-route from New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Rochester, New York, when its carburetor froze up, forcing the pilot to land in a small backyard field area.

    There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot Jeremiah Coholan and passenger Richard Medeiros; both of them remained unhurt.

    Philippine Airlines Makes Emergency Landing in Manila due to Smoke Indication

    Philippine AirlinesPhilippine Airlines flight PR-1857 had to return and make an emergency landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila, Philippines, on March 19.

    The Airbus A340, flying from Manila to Cebu, Philippines, had just climbed out of runway when the crew reported smoke indication in the cockpit, prompting the plane to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 254 people aboard remained unhurt.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Small Plane Makes Hard Landing at Philadelphia International Airport

    A small plane made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport, Pennsylvania, on June 4.

    Authorities said the Hawker 4000 jet was flying from Carlsbad, New Mexico to Monmouth Airport, New Jersey, when it experienced nose gear issues and had to make an emergency landing.

    The plane skidded along the runway and came to stop with its nose gear up.

    There were 5 people aboard at the time; none of them was injured.
