Indian Air Force Aircraft Crashes in Assam; 2 Killed

An Indian air force helicopter crashed in Majuli, Assam, India, on February 15th.

The chopper took off from Jorhat air base and was on a routine sortie when it went down.

There were two pilots on board at the time; both were killed in the crash.

The cause of crash is under investigation.

IndiGo Airlines Flight Diverts to Kolkata due to Engine Issue

IndiGo Airlines flight 6E-3645 had to divert to Kolkata, India, on January 18th.

The Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Delhi to Assam, India, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were 180 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

Chopper Carrying Indian Union Home Minister Makes Emergency Landing

A helicopter carrying Indian Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to return and make an emergency landing at Tezpur IAF airbase in Assam, India, on December 25.

The helicopter was en-route to Kokrajhar when it was forced to return due to a technical problem.

The chopper landed back uneventfully.

Singh resumed his journey in an alternate helicopter after some time.
