    Tasman Cargo Airlines Flight Returns to Auckland due to Hydraulic Problem

    Tasman Cargo Airlines flight HJ-1 had to return and make an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on February 5th.

    The Boeing 757-200 freighter plane took off for Sydney, Australia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic problem.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    Cathay Pacific Plane Diverts to Belarus due to Fuel Leakage

    Cathay PacificCathay Pacific flight CX-270 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Minsk National Airport, Belarus, on July 11th.

    The Boeing 777-300, flying from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Hong Kong, China, had to divert due to possible fuel leakage at one of its engines.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    LOT Polish Airlines Plane Bursts Tire on Landing in Warsaw

    LOT Polish Airlines flight LO-382 burst a tire on landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Poland, on March 26th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-400 plane was coming from Frankfurt, Germany.

    The plane was towed to the apron.

    All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Boeing Diverts with Smoke and Technical Problems to Santiago

    What: Air Europa Boeing 737-800 Tallinn to Tenerife
    Where: Santiago de Compostela
    When: Mar 15th 2012
    Why: While en route, the Boeing developed undisclosed technical problems.

    Pilots diverted to Santiago and made a safe landing.

    Whatever the problem was, it filled the back of the plane with smoke, and made a “roaring” sound as passengers disembarked in Santiago.

    A replacement jet was provided for the passengers.

    DATES FOR Boeing Battery INVESTIGATIVE HEARING

    The National Transportation Safety Board announced today that its two-day investigative hearing into the Jan. 7 battery fire aboard a Boeing 787 at Boston’s Logan Airport will be held on April 23-24 at the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

    The hearing will focus on issues relating to the design, testing and certification of the battery system.
