    Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Patna

    Air India flight AI-410 had to return and make an emergency landing in Patna, India, on June 28th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Delhi, India, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-two passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Jackson after Loss of Cabin Pressure

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines flight WN-214 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Jackson, Mississippi, on December 6th.

    The plane flying from Atlanta, Georgia, to Houston, Texas, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane, carrying 118 passengers and 5 crew members, landed safely.

    The airline said a flight attendant was taken to hospital after landing.

    Air France Airbus A380 Makes Emergency Landing in Canada

    Air France flight AF-66 made an emergency landing in Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, on September 30th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after one of the engines suffered a serious damage.

    The plane landed safely. All four hundred and ninety-seven passengers and twenty-three crew members remained unharmed.

    Southwest Emergency Landing in Long Island

    What: Southwest Airlines en route from Bradley International Airport Hartford,CT to Orlando
    Where: diverted to Long Island Islip Macarthur Airport
    When: July 26, 2009
    Who: 132 passengers and 5 crew
    Why: After take-off, the crew detected an “electrical smell” and smoke; oxygen masks were deployed, and the plane diverted to Long Island where the passengers debarked without incident, and took an alternate 737-300 to Orlando. The original plane was taken out of service for a complete inspection which determined that the electrical smell originated from the burner of a coffee maker in the back of the aircraft.

    Fedex Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Memphis

    Fedex Federal Express flight FX-130 had to return and make an emergency landing in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 28th.

    The plane took off for Montréal–Mirabel International Airport, Canada, but had to turn back after the crew reported an issue with the landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
