    Marine Corps Crash Kills 16. Total Loss


    A Marine Corps C-130 departed from the Mid-South Base in Millington, Tennessee and crashed in Mississippi in Leflore County in Itta Bena just off Highway 82 in a soybean field. Reports say the plane exploded in mid-air. Bodies were found more than a mile from the crash site. The debris field covered a radius of five miles. Witnesses report seeing the plane spiraling down with one engine on fire. The way the debris was scattered on both sides of the highway leads investigators to believe the explosion happened prior to the crash. The plane was loaded with ammunition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    Cessna 150 Crashed in Adams County, CO: 2 Killed

    CessnaA single-engine, two-seater Cessna 150, fixed-wing airplane crashed in an open field near Imboden Road in Adams County, Colorado, on the morning of May 31.

    The accident killed two men, including the pilot.

    Although the names of the deceased have not so far been officially released, Amritpal Singh of Aurora, the owner of the plane, was said to be flying it at the time of crash. The other victim was a musician visiting the town to participate in a concert scheduled for the same night at Adams City High School.

    The aircraft took off at midnight from Front Range Airport in Adams County. The family members reported it missing at 3:45 a.m., and the wreckage was found at 7:30 a.m.

    Adams County Sheriff’s Office is further investigating the crash.

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Georgia due to Cracked Windshield

    American EagleAmerican Airlines flight AA-1090 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, on April 29th.

    The Boeing 757-200, flying from Miami, Florida, to Chicago, Illinois, was mid-air when the crew notice a crack in its windshield, prompting to divert in emergency.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All passengers and crew members onboard remained unharmed.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement plane.

    Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cairns

    Qantas flight QF-58 made an emergency landing in Cairns, Australia, on February 10th.

    The plane heading from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to Brisbane, Australia, was diverted after a burning odor was noticed on the flight deck.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Aeroflot Flight Returns to Germany due to Engine Failure

    Aeroflot flight SU-2437 had to return and make an emergency landing in Dusseldorf, Germany, on January 28.

    The Airbus A320-200 took off for Sheremetyevo International Airport, Russia, but had to return shortly afterwards due to failure of its right hand engine.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    The flight was cancelled and the passengers were accommodated in the next flight.

    Cessna Crashes in Independence County; Pilot Killed

    A small plane crashed in a heavily wooded area near Batesville Airport in Independence County, Arkansas, on the night of April 2.

    Director of the Independence County Office of Emergency Management, Glen Willis, said it appears the Cessna 152 crashed when it was returning to Carlisle from Salem.

    The pilot was killed in the accident. His body was shifted to Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.
