A couple of acrobatic planes collided in an Alba Adriatica airshow maneuver and crashed into the sea. One pilot was transported to the hospital. The other pilot, Marco Ricci, lost a wing and could not exit his plane, and died. The plane was located four meters underwater, upside down and closed. Divers tried lifting it with air balloons. The National Agency for Flight Safety (ANSV) has opened an investigation. One plane was Van’s RV-7 # I-Amel; the other was Van’s RV-8 with #I-Lovi.

PG&E Contractor Accident in California
On August 13, 2013, an AA Aerial Services and Frontline Energy operated Champion 7GCAA was on a survey mission over a natural gas transmission pipeline when it crashed in Hamlin Canyon, SW of Paradise, CA. The time is estimated at 11:35 a.m.Witness Bob Smalley saw the plane circle to the right and fall out of the sky.
The plane caught fire on impact and by the time firemen got there, the plane was gone. When they arrived, they had no idea who was aboard and the plane was beyond identification. Twenty-one acres burned. The fire was contained by six engines, four water trucks, a bulldozer, four crews on the ground and aboveground, two air tankers and a spotter plane.
Afterwards, the plane was identified as one performing surveillance contracted for PG&E. The two people aboard who lost their lives were identified only as an employee of AA Aerial Services and one with Frontline Energy Service. However, the plane was registered to Fredrick Lewis, an agricultural pilot.
Lufthansa to Propose Random Drug Tests for Pilots
In the wake of recent Germanwings crash, Lufthansa is considering introducing unannounced drug tests for pilots.In a recent interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said such random drug tests will help improve flight safety.
It is believed that the airline will submit a proposal for unannounced drug tests to the German taskforce that was set up after flight 9525 crashed in French Alps on March 24.

Why: The plane was on a training flight and developed a technical problem.Captain Fahad and trainee pilot Abu Bakar took off from Karachi at 4 pm and at 5:25 they were losing altitude and struggling to return to the airport.
The pilots said they made a hard landing near Check Post No 3 of Malir Cantonment, a defense installation.
Reports are that the plane is damaged beyond repair.
