    Cargo Plane Made Emergency Landing at Spokane Airport

    UPS airlinesA UPS Airlines Airbus 300, heading from Portland to Spokane, made an emergency landing at the Spokane Airport in Washington on the morning of July 30.

    According to Todd Woodard with Spokane International, the pilots thought some tires of the plane had blown during takeoff. They declared an in-flight emergency as a precautionary step.

    The plane landed safely and it was discovered that no tires were actually blown.

    What: Spirit Airlines Airbus A319-100 en route from the Nicaraguan capital of Managua to Fort Lauderdale
    Where: Owen Roberts International Airport, Grand Cayman
    When: November 25, 2009
    Who: 133 passengers
    Why: While en route, a cockpit indicator signified smoke in the cockpit; the flight diverted to Owen Roberts International Airport, Grand Cayman where it landed safely.

    On inspection, maintenance found neither smoke nor fire, and instead of rebooking the passengers, the flight continued on safely to its destination.

    American Airlines Plane Suffers Bird Strike Near Miami International Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-1498 suffered a bird strike near Miami International Airport, Florida, on November 14th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Mexico City, Mexico, was on approach to Miami Airport when a goose hit it.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    What: Spirit Airlines Airbus A321-200 en route from Fort Lauderdale to New York
    Where: Fort Lauderdale
    When: Feb 15 2010
    Who: 229 aboard
    Why: On departure, the Spirit Airlines Airbus struck a bird reportedly the size of a turkey just below the windshield. 36 minutes after departure, and after dumping fuel,
    the flight returned to Ft. Lauderdale for an inspection. No one was injured. No indication was made of another bird striking the aircraft. Although emergency vehicles were on standby, plane operations appeared to be normal. Passengers were provided an alternative flight within 4 hours.

    Delta Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in California after Tyre Problem

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2355 made a safe landing at Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, California, on April 26th.

    The Boeing 757-200, en-route from Atlanta, Georgia, was on approach to Los Angeles’s runway when the crew reported the possibility of a flat tyre.

    The plane landed successfully.

    All 181 passengers onboard remained unharmed.
