    Connecticut Plane Crashes into House, Pilot and Two Children involved


    The pilot of a Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B en route from Teterboro Airport did not alert air traffic control that anything was wrong before the plane he was flying crashed approaching Tweed New Haven at 11:25 a.m. Friday.

    The plane struck homes north of Tweed New Haven Airport at 64 and 68 Charter Oak Avenue in East Haven; a one year old and a thirteen year old may have been inside one of two houses that caught fire. Heroic attempts were made to reach the children but were unsuccessful. The children and the pilot have been reported missing.

    Witnesses say the mother of the children was in her yard screaming that her children were inside. Passers by attempted to rescue the children, and found the burning plane in a bedroom. Two houses were on fire, and a car blew up in a driveway.

    Fire engines and emergency crews from East Haven, New Haven and Brantford responded to the scene. THe houses, plane and car are a total loss.

    Jetstar Airbus Pilot Catches Hydraulic Leak in Time

    Who: 179 people
    Why: When the pilot identified a leak in the hydraulics, he made several loops of Cairns airport before undertaking a “standard air return.” After an interim of 3 and a half hours, the plane resumed the flight.

    Lufthansa Flight Returns to Frankfurt due to Engine Issue

    Lufthansa flight LH-808 had to return and make an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on July 31st.

    The plane took off for Stockholm, Sweden, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were one hundred and seventy passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    KLM Flight Rejects Takeoff From Amsterdam

    KLM flight KL-641 had to reject takeoff from Amsterdam, Netherlands, on November 25th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, when the crew rejected takeoff due to an engine issue.

    The plane stopped safely.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Condor Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Frankfurt

    Condor Airlines flight DE-2115 made an emergency landing in Frankfurt, Germany, on January 30th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Cancun, Mexico, was on final approach to Frankfurt when the crew reported an issue with the flaps and went around.

    The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    JetBlue Airbus makes Safe Landing in Florida

    JetBlue flight B6-921 made a safe landing at Palm Beach International Airport, West Palm Beach, Florida, on February 16.

    The Airbus A320-200 was on its final approach to the runway when the crew had to inspect the landing gear, allowing the plane for a slow landing.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 157 people aboard remained safe.
