    What: Horizon Air flight 2246 de Havilland Dash 8-400 en route from LA to Reno
    Where: Sacramento
    When: 7:10 p.m. April 7
    Who: 5 passengers (out of 40) plus one flight attendant.
    Why: When several passengers reported injuries resulting from turbulence experienced over Yosemite. Turbulence was so severe that Individuals not buckled in literally bumped into plane’s ceiling. The plane diverted to make an emergency landing at Sacramento International Airport so that the six affected individuals could be examined.

    US Airways Emergency Landing at Hancock Airport

    What: US Airways Express plane enroute from Laguardia to Rochester
    Where: emergency landing in Syracuse at Hancock Airport
    Who: 10 people on board including Congressman Eric Massa (D) Corning
    Why: The plane made an emergency landing because of “flap” failure, successfully negotiating the icy runway.

    Allegiant Air emergency landing in Wilmington

    What: Allegiant Air en route from Orlando Florida to Plattsburgh New York
    Where: North Carolina
    When: October 23, 2011
    Who: 145 passengers
    Why: While en route, the pilots saw an indication of an oil pressure problem and diverted to Wilmington where they made a safe landing.

    The flight made a safe landing in Wilmington.

    Air France Paris-New York Flight Turns Back Due to Ice

    What: Air France Airbus A330-200 en route from Paris to New York
    Where: Paris
    When: Dec 25th 2011
    Who: 187 passengers and 12 crew
    Why: On takeoff from Paris, the crew detected problems.

    The engine anti-icing system indicated a problem, so the pilots returned to Paris two hours after leaving.

    An anti-ice system valve was apparently repaired. After two more hours, the flight took off for New York.

    Emergency Landing in Salt Lake

    What: Delta en route from Detroit
    Where: Salt Lake City
    When: Jan 12, 2010
    Who: 144 passengers
    Why: While en route from Detroit, the Delta A320 made an emergency landing in Salt Lake City Utah. Braking and steering were affected, though details have not been released to the media.

    Delta reported that no one was in danger.

    When: Saturday
    Who: Pilot Jeffrey K. Edmondson
    Why: When the engine cut out, the pilot had to make an emergency landing. There was damage to the landing gear.
