    Cessna 172 Crashed in Bethlehem, 2 Killed

    A Cessna 172 aiCessnarcraft crashed in Selkirk, Bethlehem in New York, shortly after 4:50 p.m. on September 8.

    The incident happened after the plane took off from the South Albany Airport with a flight instructor and his female student aboard.

    The authorities confirmed that both of them died in the accident. According to Detective Sergeant Adam Hornick with the Bethlehem Police, “The plane struck the rail car that was stopped on the tracks and then came to a rest immediately next to it.”

    The instructor identified as Al was working as flight instructor at the South Albany Airport for the last 13 years. The identity of the female student has not yet been released.

    The FAA and the NTSB will investigate.

    US Airways Emergency Landing at Hancock Airport

    Corendon Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Corendon Airlines flight CND-218 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Antalya, Turkey, on June 6th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Hurghada, Egypt, to Amsterdam, Netherlands, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Michigan Float Plane Crash

    At 5:10 pm Tuesday, Gerard Dale Pearson, 71, was piloting a float plane that crashed on Shoal Lake, in Michigan.

    Emergency services, including Itasca County Search and Rescue, Cohasset Fire and Minnesota DNR and Itasca County Sheriff Department retrieved the pilot from the submerged plane.

    Pearson was airlifted to Grand Itasca Hospital, then Miller Dwan in Duluth Michigan.

    The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    Horizon Air Emergency Landing with Smokey Cockpit in Portland

    What: Alaska/Horizon Air de Havilland Dash 8-400 en route from Portland to Seattle
    Where: Portland
    When: Jan 9th 2010
    Who: 3 aboard
    Why: Twenty minutes after smoke was reported in the cockpit, the plane returned to Portland where it made a safe landing. The plane was taken out of commission, and passengers provided alternative transport.

    Two Killed after Small Plane Crashed in Arizona

    A P-51D Mustang plane crashed near Maricopa, Arizona, on February 5th.

    Authorities said the World War II-era plane caught fire after the crash.

    Two people were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
