    What: Mooney M20M en route from Grand Rapids to Traverse City
    Where: northwestern Randolph County three miles east of Albany
    When: Wednesday at 12:43 p.m.
    Who: David J. Eyde
    Why: Speculation is that Eyde lost consciousness of hypoxia while flying over Michigan, the crisis somehow involving the plane’s air supply at 23000 feet. Air National Guard pilots could see the pilot, unconscious in the cockpit. The plane flew till it’s 4 hours of fuel ran out.

    The plane crashed while out of control, and being followed by F-16 fighter jets

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Charlotte

    American Airlines flight AA-730 had to return for an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 21st.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Heathrow Airport, England, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a possible issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and fifty-eight passengers and sixteen crew members remained unharmed.

    Swiss International Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Zurich

    Swiss International Airlines flight LX-352 made an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on December 19th.

    The plane heading from Geneva, Switzerland, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to engine vibrations.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    KLM flight KL-685 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 7th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Mexico City, Mexico, but had to turn back due to suspected bird strikes.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Alaska Airlines Plane Struck by Lightning; Returns to LAX

    Alaska AirlinesAn Alaska Airlines Flight 006 returned to Los Angeles International Airport, California, on the afternoon of July 18.

    The Boeing 737, heading towards Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, had to return for an emergency landing after it was hit by lightning.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 159 passengers aboard remained unhurt.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Failure

    Turkish Airlines flight TK-98 made an emergency landing in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on April 3rd.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane flying from Istanbul, Turkey, was on approach to Medina when the crew requested assistance due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed safely and was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
