What: TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-200 en route from Lisbon Portugal to Belo Horizonte Brazil

Why: Just after takeoff, the TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-200 suffered engine trouble. After shutting down an engine, the crew returned to Lisbon where they made a safe landing.
Passengers were provided a replacement flight.

What: Lufthansa Boeing 747-400 en route from Buenos Aires Ezeiza,BA (Argentina) to Frankfurt/Main Where: Buenos Aires

Why: After taking off from Buenos Aires, one engine ingested a bird or birds, and developed engine problems. The pilots dumped fuel and returned to land back in Buenos Aires with emergency services on standby.
Passengers disembarked in Buenos Aires, and were provided hotel accommodations while waiting for a Tuesday flight.
VivaColombia flight 5Z-355 had to return and make a safe emergency landing at Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida, on July 13th.
The Airbus A320-200 flying to Bogota, Colombia was mid-air when the crew reported fire indication on its right hand engine.
The plane landed successfully.
All 121 passengers and 5 crew members onboard remained unharmed.
Frontier Airlines flight F9-1334 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 4th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to West Palm Beach, Florida, was diverted due to issues with the fuel system.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 205 passengers and 7 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

What: Delta Airlines Boeing 767-400 en route from Paris to Atlanta, GA

Why: The flight encountered turbulence on approach to Atlanta. One member of the flight crew was injured.
On December 26, 2012, an Atran-Aviatrans Antonov 12BP en route from Chelyabinsk to Vorkuta with eight crew aboard made an emergency landing in Chelyabinsk after an engine failed.
Pilots landed safely 15 minutes after take-off due to a malfunction of the fourth engine.
The plane is undergoing inspection. No injuries were reported and no damage to the plane during landing.
Air France flight AF-378 had to return for an emergency landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, on January 8th.
The Airbus A340-300 plane took off for Detroit, Michigan, but had to turn back due to a gear issue.
The plane landed safely after dumping excess fuel. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
