Aeroflot flight SU-34 made an emergency landing in St. Petersburg, Russia, on January 10th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane flying from Moscow, Russia, was descending toward St. Petersburg when the crew reported a hydraulic issue.
The plane subsequently landed safely. All one hundred and ten people aboard remained unharmed.
A Tiger Airways Philippines Airbus A320 was taxiing on the runway at Kalibo International Airport in the Philippines when the plane got stuck on the runway. Passengers were provided accommodations at a local hotel as they waited for the situation to be amended. A dozen flights had to be rerouted, in the meantime.
50 passengers were aboard the flight bound for Singapore when it got mired while making a 180-degree turn at the end of Runway 05.
Airport traffic was halted as the situation was resolved. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines announced that the front wheel “stuck on a soft spot and got stalled while making a 180-degree turn at the end of Runway 05.”
The Aircraft Accident Investigation & Inquiry Board is investigating.

Why: After the smoke indicator lights indicated the possibility of smoke, and smoke in the cabin was confirmed by fire crews, the flight landed in Tampa and passengers debarked via emergency slides (which caused a few minor injuries.) However a Southwest spokesperson denied there was smoke, and claimed that the emergency landing was a precaution. But passengers reported a strong smell of smoke, and that the fire alarm had gone off in the lavatory.

The Alaska Airlines flight, from Orange County, California to Seattle, made an emergency landing at the Crater Lake-Klamath Falls Regional Airport in Oregon, at 3:30 p.m. on July 27.
The flight was diverted due to fuel leakage in one of the engines, according to Bill Hancock, airport operations manager.
The plane, having 160 passengers and crew members aboard, landed safely.
The Alaska Airlines sent another Jet from Seattle at about 6 p.m. to pick up the stranded passengers from the Klamath Falls.
Swiss International Air Lines flight LX-2250 had to return and make an emergency landing at Zurich Airport, Kloten, Switzerland, on July 7th.
The Helvetic Fokker 100, en-route to Budapest, Hungary, was mid-air above Austria when the crew reported that ground spoilers were inoperative, prompting the plane to return.
The plane landed uneventfully. All people onboard remained unharmed.
The flight was cancelled.

What: Air France Airbus A320-200 en route from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to Paris

Why: While en route, the Airbus A320 flew for a minute without speed indications;in fact, all data related indications, autopilot and autothrust systems went offline simultaneously. The Airbus had updated Thales pitot tubes, and was experiencing a “weather” situation. Thales tubes were the brand of pitot tube on Air France Flight 447, albeit an updated model.

More questions: is it the tubes alone which are faulty, or is it also the software? Why is there not a setting to automatically shift to Analog systems if digital fails?
American Airlines flight AA-5957 made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on January 17th.
The plane flying from Phoenix, Arizona, was descending toward DFW Airport when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
