What: Aerolineas Argentinas McDonnell Douglas MD-83 en route from Buenos Aires to Jujuy Argentina
Where: Santiago Argentina

Who: 45 passengers
Why: While en route, the plane developed cabin pressure problems and diverted to Santiago where it made a safe landing. Passengers were provided a flight to Santiago.
Air New Zealand flight NZ-9 had to make an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on September 10th.
The Boeing 787-900 plane was flying from Honolulu, Hawaii, when the crew received a flat tire indication and declared an emergency.
The plane landed safely. All 286 passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: North Cariboo Flying Service de Havilland Dash 8-100 en route from Edmonton to Fort Nelson
Where: Peace River, Canada
When: Oct 19th 2010
Who: 28 passengers and 3 crew
Why: While en route, the plane developed low oil pressure in the left engine. The crew shut down the engine and diverted to Peace River where they made a safe landing.
Air Algerie flight AH-6465 made an emergency landing in In Salah, Algeria, on April 21st.
The plane took off for Algiers, Algeria, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Delta Airlines flight DL-188 had to return for an emergency landing in Beijing, China, on April 28th.
The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Detroit, Michigan, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

What: Corendon Airlines Boeing 737-400 en route from Amsterdam to Ankara
Where: Amsterdam
When: Mar 2nd 2010
Who: 101 passengers
Why: Passengers got a big surprise when this jet was readying for departure and the cockpit was stormed by police. Okay this may be something of an exaggeration; I don’t know if it was stormed; but at any rate, the pilot was removed from the cockpit for flying with a license…that expired 13 years ago. I don’t know how the Swedish found out, but the Swedish told the Dutch who told Turkish Civil aviation who promptly took action. Fortunately, someone had an alternative pilot to handle the flight.
Air India domestic flight AI-405 made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, on September 7.
The Airbus A320-200, en-route to Delhi, from Varanasi, had to be landed in emergency due to hydraulic failure, leading to heavy smoke.
The plane landed safely.
Five among the 146 passengers and 6 crew members sustained minor injuries as they were evacuated through slides.
