    Why: After a hard landing, the plane struck a tree.

    The pilot was Doyle R. Chadwick.

    The passengers, all of whom survived, were Phillip Byrge, 49, and his 12-year-old son Nathan and 8-year-old daughter Mary.

    President of the Oliver Springs Airport board of directors,Steve Hamel, was quoted as saying that he believes “Wind and a wet runway likely played a role in the crash….It’s a grass runway, and it looks like the skid marks of extended distance here, that the brakes may have been locked up on the airplane”

    Boeing Emergency Landing in Irkutsk


    On August 28, 2013, a British Airways Boeing 747-436 en route from Heathrow to Beijing was en route when it developed ‘overheated avionics’ and had to divert to Irkutsk, Russia where it made a safe landing with emergency services on standby.

    It was an emergency landing, but the Russian Ministry called the landing a crash-landing.

    There were 289 passengers and eight crew aboard.(According to British Mail, 16 crew.)

    There were 120 rescue personnel, 34 vehicles including the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

    Rossiya Airlines Flight Returns to Moscow due to Landing Gear Issue

    Rossiya AirlinesRossiya Airlines flight FV-6483 made an emergency landing at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia, on July 18th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, but had to turn back due to an issue with landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Delta Airlines Plane Diverts and Makes Emergency Landing in Maryland

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2285 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Baltimore, Maryland, on March 23.

    The Boeing 737-900, en-route from New York to Orlando, Florida, was above Baltimore when the crew reported smoke indication, prompting the plane to divert.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 181 people on board remained unharmed.

    UTair Aviation Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Moscow

    UTair Aviation flight UT-595 had to return and make an emergency landing in Moscow, Russia, on April 19th.

    The Boeing 737-500 plane took off for Usinsk, Russia, but had to turn back after the crew reported issues with the stabilizer.

    The plane landed back safely. There were 91 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Where: two miles northwest of the JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA runway 20
    When: 8. FEB-2009
    Who: pilot
    Why: A pilot’s training flight was interrupted at 1:30 when he had to make an emergency landing two miles from the airport. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
