Why: The plane was scheduled to land in Palana village, but lost contact with ATC and crashed in a cedar forest on a hill 10 kilometers away from the intended landing site. A thirteen year old boy who survived is now comatose. The three other survivors are in critical condition.A recovery helicopter landed as close as possible to the wreckage; but rescue personnel had to navigate through rough topography to reach the wounded.
Originally nine bodies were found, and five injured people, but one child died of injuries.
FGUPKAP, the carrier is owned by the state. Minister of Health Tatiana Lemeshko Kamchatka participated in a conference regarding the crash, and reported on the status of the 4 surviving passengers. The ministry is sending September rescue personnel and doctors to Palana on September 13.
Weather conditions, human error or technical malfunction may be the cause. Officials announced that the families of the fatalities will be getting 200,000 rubles in compensation.
Skydivers Planes Collide And Fall to Earth
On November 2nd, 2013, the two Skydive Superior Cessnas (Cessna A185F Skywagon #WN94059, Cessna 182 #N6068Y) were flying over Wisconsin when one flew into another, forcing eleven people into emergency mode. Two pilots and nine skydivers made it to the ground alive, though part of the plane was described as breaking off into a fireball of burning debris that the skydivers had to avoid while they were coming down. The nine skydivers had been planning a tandem jump.The Skywagon encountered wake turbulence, which lead to the collision and breakup of the lead aircraft.
Four jumpers were aboard the lead plane that broke apart.
One plane broke up and burned; the other pilot managed to land. The pilot of one plane used his emergency parachute and was injured enough on landing that he was hospitalized. The other managed to land at the airport, albeit with a broken wing and propeller.
The FAA is investigating.

Canadair CRJ Belly Landing at LAX
A SkyWest/United Express Canadair CRJ made a belly landing at Los Angeles International Airport with the left main gear not fully extended. None of the 43 aboard reported injury. The video below shows sparks on landing, with the commentators realizing on air there were not 4 aboard but a full plane. The video has been cut so that you do not see the landing initially, but eventually they show the friction of the landing. News of the incident was released without the flight number, origin or destination.
The incident occurred at 8:23 a.m.The CRJ is a regional commuter. Passengers were able to disembark normally, without slides, and were bussed to the terminal. Emergency services were standing by.
Viral Video Pilot’s Engagement Cut Short in Cachoeira do Sul
Last month, Arthur Demetrio must have been full of hope and good news when he took his girlfriend Thays Pereira da Cruz flying, and asked her to marry him by having his parents hold up banners saying “Thays Marry me” in an airfield in Cachoeira do Sul Brazil.I wish this were the end of the story.
This Wednesday, Demetrio spoke to his fiancée Thays on the phone.
Later that day, his Cessna 140 aircraft was flying out of the airfield where he proposed.He crashed in Cachoeira do Sul.
His student Darlan Kabata dos Santos, 31, and he both died. There was almost no warning, though Demetrio had time to tell ATC he was having plane trouble, something about the elevator, which controls the nose of the plane.
Officials informed his fiancée; she was the first to know. The family is devastated.
Arthur Demetrio will be buried in Santa Catarina, where he is from.
The accident is under investigation.

Rio Vista Collision
What: Beechcraft 35-A33 Debonair

Why: After the helicopter and plane bumped over Rio Vista, the pilot had to make a hard landing short of Byron Airport, 8 miles south of Rio Vista Municipal Airport. Apparently the plane struck the chopper’s skids. The 1961 six-seat Beechcraft plane involved in the collision is registered to Ronald A. Gawer of Brentwood in Contra Costa County.When the Solano Fire crews arrived on the scene, they found the pilot with minor injuries, and the passenger was unhurt.
According to the owner of the chopper flight school, the chopper was hit from behind by the Beechcraft.
