Sunwest Aviation flight CNK-7123 collided with two deer upon landing at Christina Lake Airstrip, located east of Conklin, Alberta, Canada, on October 3rd.The incident happened when the plane was coming from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The plane sustained minor damage.
There were forty-three passengers and four crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Helicopter Crashed During Training Exercise in Southern California; 2 Marines Killed
A Third Marine Aircraft Wing helicopter crashed at Twentynine Palms Marine base in Southern California on the afternoon of January 24.The UH-1Y Huey helicopter, carrying 2 Marines, crashed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center during a training exercise.
Both occupants were killed in the crash. They were later identified as Captain Elizabeth Kealey, 32, of Indiana, Pennsylvania and First Lieutenant Adam Satterfield, 25, of Oldham, Kentucky.
Wing commander Maj. Gen. Michael Rocco said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the two Marines we lost in this tragic accident.”
The cause of crash is not known at the moment.

Why: While en route, the plane indicated there was a fire. The crew indicated there was no fire but returned to the airport. On landing (after burning off fuel, maintenance determined that the landing gear had been on fire.Something fishy in the state of Novosibirsk? Can a crew just decide “there’s no fire?” Obviously not, since they did return to the airport. Fortunately, they did, since the landing gear apparently was on fire.

Why: While en route from Detroit to Phoenix, the plane’s right engine developed engine problems. The pilot shut down the affected engine and diverted to Colorado Springs where they made a safe landing 3/4 of an hour later. On landing, however, one of the wheel-wells overheated when the landing gear caught fire.Passengers evacuated via emergency slides, which resulted in two injured passengers. The injured were hospitalized.
The rest of the passengers were to be booked on alternative flights.
