    Eurowings Flight Rejects Takeoff From Las Vegas

    Eurowings flight EW-175 had to reject takeoff from Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 21st.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Cologne, Germany, when the crew rejected takeoff due to shimmy vibrations from the nose gear.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Air Berlin Plane Overruns Runway at Sylt Airport

    Air Berlin flight AB-6880 overran the end of the runway after landing at Sylt Airport in Sylt, Germany, on September 30th.

    The incident happened when the Airbus A320-200 plane was coming from Dusseldorf, Germany.

    The plane came to stop on soft ground. There were eighty-two passengers and five crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    Iberia Express Plane Diverts to England due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Iberia Express flight I2-3617/ IB-3617 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Gatwick Airport, England, UK, on May 25th.

    The Airbus A320-200 flying from London, England, to Las Palmas, Spain, had to divert due to smoke in cockpit.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Airbus Emergency Landing in Toulouse

    What: Air France Airbus A319-100 en route from Paris Orly to Toulouse
    Where: Toulouse
    When: Mar 30th 2009
    Who: 115 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: In flight, the left engine surged. The crew did not shut it down, but did reduce power; and the plane landed without injury with emergency crews on standby.

    What: Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Las Vegas to Burbank
    Where: On approach to the Burbank airport
    When: Feb 13th 2010
    Who: 80 passengers and 5 crew
    Why: A small private plane and a SW Boeing came within 5900 feet of a collision, but between ATC and the Traffic and Collision Avoidance System warning, the flights adjusted, and there was no collision, and no wake turbulence problem. However a flight attendant broke her shoulder and another was also hospitalized with injuries that occurred during the evasive maneuvers.

    TAP Diverts to Paris with Air Conditioning Emergency That Sets off Warning Bell

    bellA TAP Air Portugal Airbus A320-214 was en route from Lisbon, Portugal to Amsterdam when it developed a problem with the air conditioning.

    Pilots made an emergency landing in Paris at Orly airport.

    None of the 72 passengers was injured.

    However, an online twitter post assumed that the problem was an engine fire because an engine bell was heard during radio transmissions to ATC. There was no fire.
