    What: Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747-400 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah
    Where: Chennai
    When: Jul 6th 2011
    Who: 200 passengers
    Why: While en route, the flight developed smoke in the cockpit. Pilots diverted to Chennai and made a safe landing. Emergency services examined the plane and found no fire or heat. Maintenance examined the flight.

    The flight continued about 4 and a half hours later, and made a safe landing eventually in Jeddah

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Colorado Springs

    American Airlines flight AA-5919 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 1st.

    The Canadair CRJ-900 plane heading from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Phoenix, Arizona, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All seventy-six people aboard remained unharmed.

    Turkish Airlines Plane Diverts to Canada Over Bomb Threat

    Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK2 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada, on November 21.

    Authorities said the plane, flying from John F Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to a bomb threat.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 256 passengers and crew members aboard at the time; none of them were harmed.

    No explosive material was found in the plane.

    Ryanair Flight Returns to East Midlands Airport After Bird Strike

    Ryanair flight FR-1742 had to return and make an emergency landing at East Midlands Airport, England, on March 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Ireland West Airport Knock, Ireland, but had to turn back after it suffered a bird strike that caused damage to the windshield.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    EasyJet flight U2-2963 had to return and make an emergency landing at Milan–Malpensa Airport, Italy, on July 5th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Heraklion, Greece, but had to turn back after the crew reported smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed backs safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Airbus Emergency Landing in Prague


    On May 13, 2013, an Aeroflot Airbus A320-214 en route from Sheremetyevo Int’l Moscow to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague made an emergency landing in Prague.

    The plane landed with emergency services on standby, and was towed from the main runway. Passengers disembarked and were taken to the gate by bus.
