A small plane crashed near Rock Sound International Airport in the Bahamas, on June 5th.
The plane, carrying three American men, went down shortly after taking off from the airport.
All three occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.
It is believed that the plane was heading to Fort Pierce, Florida at the time.
A helicopter crashed into Lake Nakuru in Kenya, on October 21st.
The helicopter, carrying five people, was en-route to an election campaign rally when it went down.
According to a statement issued by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, “Initial indications are that there are no survivors.”
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika said three people aboard the helicopter were members of her communications team.
The search and rescue operation is underway.
A small military plane crashed in a Santa Cruz aerodrome in Bolivia, on October 15.
The Bolivia-made Tiluchi FAB-542 was rehearsing a landing maneuver for the anniversary of the Bolivian air force when it went down.
Authorities confirmed that 2 people aboard the aircraft, a colonel and a lieutenant, were killed in the accident.
The cause of crash is not clear at the moment.
A plane crashed on Prince of Wales Island in Alaska, on July 10th.
The plane was carrying eleven people when it went down, shortly after taking off for Ketchikan.
According to Coast Guard officials, all eleven occupants suffered minor injuries.
It is believed that the plane belongs to Taquan Air, which provides sightseeing services and scheduled flights.
On July 11, 2014, United Airlines flight 201, a Boeing 777-222 was four hours on the ground before the flight, with passengers waiting as some technical problem on the plane was worked out. Departure time of this flight is recorded as 18:16 but it is normally around 14:30. Then when the flight was enroute from Honolulu to Guam, the plane developed fire, haze or smoke in the cockpit. Pilots made an emergency landing at Midway Islands after Radar and Radio Comms were lost but the transponder continued working. Passenger luggage is still stuck on the tiny runway at Henderson Field Airport Midway Atoll.
The incident was unannunciated, which means that it had no alert, and the crew had to sense it (i.e. see/smell) but while underway, a smoke alarm was triggered.
None of the 335 passengers or 13 crew sustained injury.
According to flightaware, United Airlines flew in a replacement B777 which landed 5 1/2 hours later, spent an hour on the ground and brought the passengers back to Honolulu.

Why: The plane reportedly nose-dived into the ground near Lorain County Regional Airport in New Russia Township on approach to the runway. All victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
