A small plane crashed at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas, on April 25th.
The civilian-owned plane crashed shortly after taking off from the base.
There were two people aboard, including the pilot and a passenger. Both were killed in the crash. It is believed that they had come to visit an employee of the base.

Why: A plane crashed in Glendale, hitting power lines and knocking out service to 2,100 customers near the crash site. The pilot notified ATC of engine trouble near the El Monte Airport, and said he was trying to reach Van Nuys Airport before he lost contact with ATC.
THe plane struck power poles and a tree before impacting the ground in a residential front yard. Three homes were evacuated but no one on the ground was injured.
The pilot went to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center with injures but was released Monday night. Police said he did a good job avoiding causing damage to other people and property. The Cessna is owned by Allen K. Heng and James Roth. Heng was not aboard at the time of the crash.
Two small planes collided midair over Wil, a town in St. Gallen canton in northeastern Switzerland, in the afternoon of August 24.
According to St. Gallen Canton Police, both the aircrafts, one en-route from Lommis airport in Thurgau canton and the other flying from Zurich, were able to land in emergency after the collision.
One of the planes landed in a field. All 4 people aboard this plane, including the pilot, were seriously injured.
The second plane landed in a Sitterdorf airfield, injuring the pilot and 2 passengers on board.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Who: Leroy Hopkins, the pilot was the only person aboard. Business owner from Corinth MS.
Why: The cause has not been determined.
Trans State flight AX-4615/UA-4615 made a safe landing at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Saint Louis, Missouri, on February 23.
The Embraer, en-route from Chicago, Illinois, to Saint Louis, struck the wing tips onto the runway while landing.
The plane received minor damage to its wings.
All people aboard remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight AA-2271 made an emergency landing at Palm Beach International Airport, Florida, on the afternoon of July 6.
The Boeing 737-800, heading towards West Palm Beach in Florida, from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, had to be diverted due to a problem with one of its flaps.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 141 people aboard remained safe.

Why: Indicators convinced the pilots of Flight 963 that an engine caught on fire. The pilots returned to Dallas and landed the 777 safely. The brakes locked up and a tire blew out, but that kind of thing is not unusual for an overweight landing.
Onlookers saw the flight dumping fuel, described as fuel streaming from its jets. If they were alarmed, just think how the passengers felt.
