Envoy Air flight MQ-3434 had to return and make an emergency landing in Toledo, Ohio, on January 17th.
The plane took off for O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a smoke indication.
The plane landed back safely. All forty-six passengers and three crew members remained unharmed.
American Airlines flight 2293 returned to San Francisco International Airport for making an emergency landing at about 2:15 p.m. on October 13.
The Boeing 757 was on its way from San Francisco to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport when the passengers noticed that the cabin wall was starting to tear apart. According to a passenger James Wilson, “It was the whole Row 14 on all sides, from the floor to the ceiling…It sounded like it was popping and banging so loud at first I thought stuff was coming out of the overhead compartments.”
American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller said that the flight was turned back due to a possible blown air duct. “When they realised those panels came loose, the captain decided it was best to return to San Francisco and landed the plane there safely,” he said.
He also confirmed that all 184 passengers and 6 crew members remained unhurt.
The incident is under investigation.
Republic Airways flight YX-3311 made a safe landing following a bird strike in Newark, New Jersey, on December 5th.
The plane was flying from Saint Louis, Missouri, when a bird hit it.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained safe.
At 3:35 p.m. Continental Airlines Flight 458 A320 en route from Houston to Washington diverted to New Orleans on Tuesday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport where the pilots made a safe emergency landing with Ron Paul aboard. Paul Lampson, Ted Poe, John Carter, Solomon P. Ortiz, Ciro Rodriguez, and Henry Cuellar were also aboard.
Ironically, the Texas congressmen were trying to get back to Washington to vote on an aviation safety bill.
There were 120 aboard. An alternative flight was provided.
Thai Airways flight TG-671 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Osaka International Airport, Japan, on January 12.
The Boeing 777-300, flying from Sapporo, Japan, to Bangkok, Thailand, had to divert due to some electrical issues.
The plane landed safely.
All 133 passengers and 19 crew members remained safe.
Swift Air flight WQ-933 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Miami International Airport, Florida, on July 7th.
The Boeing 737-300 flying from Montego Bay, Jamaica, to Cleveland, Ohio, had to divert due to smoke indication in its cargo hold.
The plane landed safely.
All 155 people aboard remained safe.
IndiGo flight 6E 573 had to make an emergency landing in Kolkata, India, on November 9th.
The plane took off for Guwahati, India, but had to turn back after the crew noticed smoke on-board.
The plane landed safely. All seventy-six people aboard remained unharmed.
