    Where: Sofia

    Who: 56 passengers
    Why: While en route, the right engine developed vibration. It is not noted whether or not the engine was shut down, but the flight diverted successfully to Sofia and made an emergency landing.

    Lufthansa Fire and Emergency Landing

    What: German Lufthansa Airbus A300-600 en route from Malta to Frankfurt.
    Where: Malta International Airport
    When: Tuesday
    Who: 205 passengers evacuated with no injuries.
    Why: The crew reported a fire in its cargo hold and returned for an emergency landing 25 minutes after embarking.

    Loganair Flight Makes Emergency Landing at London Stansted Airport

    Loganair flight LM-301 had to divert and make an emergency landing at London Stansted Airport, England, on February 5th.

    The plane heading from Norwich, England, to Edinburgh, Scotland, was diverted after the crew received indication of a flaps problem.

    The plane landed safely. All twenty-three passengers and three crew members remained unharmed.

    Ural Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Saint Petersburg

    Ural Airlines flight U6-365 had to return and make an emergency landing in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on December 7th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Yekaterinburg, Russia, but had to turn back after the crew noticed disagreeing airspeeds.

    The plane landed back safely. All one hundred and twenty-three passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    Malaysia Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Jambi

    Malaysia Airlines flight MH-724 made an emergency landing in Jambi, Indonesia, on February 25th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted due to a low fuel indication.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

    Overheated Airbus Returns to Phoenix

    What: US Airways Airbus A320-200 en route from Phoenix to Milwaukee
    Where: Wray
    When: Jun 9 2010
    Why: While en route, the system indicated an overheat. The crew returned to Phoenix where they made a safe landing. A replacement jet was provided for passengers.

    Not that it applies, but the Thursday high for Phoenix was 102 o.
