    UPS Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    UPSUnited Parcel Service flight 213 had to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on September 25.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 plane, heading from Louisville, Kentucky to Cologne, Germany, was diverted after the pilots noticed issues with one of its three engines and had to shut it down.

    The plane landed safely. There were 6 crew members aboard at the time; none of them was hurt.

    The plane was taken for inspection.

    Tiger Airways Flight Diverted to Adelaide due to ‘Strange Odor’

    Tiger airTiger Airways flight TT413 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Adelaide Airport, Australia, on March 15.

    The plane, en-route from Melbourne to Perth, had to be diverted after a strange odor was noticed in the cabin.

    The flight landed uneventfully and all 171 passengers were provided free overnight accommodation.

    The airline said in a statement, “Tigerair Australia apologises for any inconvenience to affected passengers, however safety is always our first priority and always comes before schedule … The airline is currently awaiting the review of the engineers’ assessment and is prioritising travel arrangements to get affected passengers to their destination as soon as possible.”

    EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Prague

    EasyJet flight U2-2581 made an emergency landing in Prague, Czech Republic, on July 23rd.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Palma, Spain, was on final approach when the crew reported a landing gear issue and declared an emergency.

    The crew subsequently performed an alternate landing gear extension and landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-585 had to return and make an emergency landing in Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan, on May 9th.

    The plane took off for Karachi, Pakistan, but had to turn back due to an engine fire indication.

    The plane landed back safely. All fifty-eight people aboard remained unharmed.
