    Woman Killed in Plane Crash in Texas

    A single-engine Beechcraft carrying a family of three crashed at Hicks Air Field, north of downtown Fort Worth on April 13.

    The plane crashed during an attempt to make emergency landing. The woman died on the spot, while the pilot, who was her husband, was injured along with their son. Their injuries are not life threatening.

    Lonny Haschel, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said that the family was flying from Arkansas to Fort Worth at the time of the incident.

    Small Plane Crashed at Virginia International Raceway; 2 Killed

    A World War II, T28-C single-engine plane crashed in a large field at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Halifax County, Virginia , at about 5 p.m. on September 19.

    The witnesses saw the plane flying low over the field before it went down.

    Two people, including the pilot and his passenger, were killed in the accident. Their identities are not yet known.

    No one was injured on the ground.

    The owner and CEO of VIR, Connie Nyholm said, “We deal with the possibility of motorsports incidents every day… Motorsport is a dangerous sport. We are fully prepared to deal with it. We have never experienced something like this.”

    The FAA and the NTSB have been informed.

    Plane Crash Investigation Reveals Cause

    On April 29, we reported the National Air Cargo flight that crashed when it’s load shifted and the plane stalled. Federal investigators and Boeing experts went to Afghanistan to to assist in the investigation.

    On Jun 2nd 2013, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan investigation announced officially that it was the weight of three armored vehicles and two mine sweepers 80 tons––of shifting cargo that caused the plane to crash.

    The wiring in the back of the plane was cut by impact with the cargo, leaving the pilots helpless to control the plane.

    There were no survivors.

    Plane Carrying Colombia’s Interior Minister Crash-Lands in Bogota

    A plane crash-landed at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia, on October 28th.

    The Anti-Narcotics Police aircraft carrying 10 people, including Colombia’s interior minister Juan Fernando Cristo, was attempting to land at the airport when its landing gear failed.

    Everyone aboard remained safe.

    The plane was returning from Pereira, Colombia, at the time.

    Helicopter Crash in India

    What: Pawan Hans Aérospatiale AS365 N3 Dauphin
    Where: Chandigarh Airport India
    When: Dec 16, 2010
    Who: 2 pilots, S P S Brar and M S Brar
    Why: While en route to pick up a government official Punjab Industries Minister Manorajan Kalia to Mukerian in Hoshiarpur distric, after takeoff from Chandigarh Airport, the helicopter tilted and fell to the ground, and caught afire. The helicopter had been leased to the Indian government for the past 14 years.

    The pilots managed to get out of the burning helicopter alive. They have been hospitalized at Western Command Hospital at Panchkula.

    An inquiry is underway.

    Ohio Plane Crash Kills 4 University Students

    plane fireA single-engine Cessna 172R airplane crashed and caught fire in suburban Richmond Heights around Cleveland, Ohio, at about 10 p.m. on August 25.

    The accident happened shortly after the plane took off from Cuyahoga County Regional Airport with 4 students of Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University on-board. A spokesman for the NTSB, Peter Knudson, said that the plane was apparently coming back to the airport when it crashed.

    All 4 people aboard were killed in the accident. The victims were identified as Lucas Marcelli, 20, of Massillon, Ohio; Abraham Pishevar, 18, of Rockville, Maryland; John Hill, 18, of St. Simons, Georgia, and the pilot, William Felten, 20, of Saginaw, Michigan.

    According to an Ohio State Highway Patrol official, the plane was rented for 4 hours by Felten.

    The cause of crash is under investigation.
