    United Airlines Flight Returns to Chicago due to Engine Issue

    United Airlines flight UA-881 returned to O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on June 16th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Narita International Airport, Japan, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an engine problem.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    United Flight Diverts to Spokane due to Engine Problem

    new-united-logoUnited Airlines flight 273 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Spokane, Washington, shortly before 7 p.m. on December 21.

    The flight, en-route from Seattle to Newark, NJ, was diverted after the Airbus A320 lost power to one of its two engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully and no one aboard was injured.

    An alternate aircraft was arranged for the passengers.

    Polet Airlines Makes Emergency Diversion after engine Failure

    On Sat Jan 12, 2013, Polet Airlines Saab 340 engaged in flight 770 was en route from Belgorod to Moscow when the left engine developed engine failure. The pilots made a safe landing in Voronezh at 21:04.

    17 passengers and 3 crew were aboard. There were no injuries reported.

    Passengers were provided an alternative flight to Moscow on Sunday.

    The incident is under investigation.

    What: Iran Air Boeing 727-200 en route from Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) to Tehran Imam Khomeini
    Where: Tehran
    When: Oct 18th 2011
    Who: 94 passengers and 19 crew
    Why: On approach to Imam Khomeini Airport, the crew aborted the approach due to a landing gear issue. The crew diverted the flight to Mehrabad Airport (also in Tehran).

    The fly by at Mehrabad indicated the nose gear issue was actual, and not an indicator problem.

    The crew landed without the nose gear on the main gear, and the runway had been foamed. There were no reported injuries.

    EasyJet Flight Returns to Liverpool after Suspected Electrical Fault

    EasyjetEasyJet flight EZY 7045 had to return and make an emergency landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in England, on June 19.

    The airbus A320 was en-route from Liverpool to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris when the crew reported a possible electrical fault and decided to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely and none of the 176 passengers reported any injuries.

    The passengers were accommodated in a replacement flight while the plane was taken for inspection.

    When: June 4 2009, 8:00 a.m
    Who: 67 passengers 4 crew
    Why: The pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and electrical problems, and requested an emergency landing. The landing proceeded safely and no fire was found.
