    Where: Congonhas airport
    When: 1850 (2150 GMT) on Tuesday
    Who: 186 passengers and crew plus assorted on ground
    Why: wet runway conditions; unfit unfinished runway; reverser (and other) issues on plane. These and other reasons are in contention.

    Qatar Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Failure

    Qatar Airways flight QR-59 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on December 26th.

    The Airbus A350-900 plane flying from Doha, Qatar, was descending toward Munich when the crew requested emergency assistance due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Iberia Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brazil

    IberiaIberia Airlines flight IB-6012 had to make an emergency landing in Fortaleza, Brazil, on April 16th.

    The Airbus A330-200 was en-route from Montevideo, Uruguay, to Madrid, Spain, when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and requested an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. All 253 passengers remained unhurt.

    Emirates Aborts Takeoff

    What: Emirates Boeing 777-200 en route from Dubai to Houston
    Where: Dubai
    When: Aug 8th 2010
    Why: The pilot taking off in the Emirates 777 rejected the high speed take-off, deflating nose gear tires. No injuries were reported.

    A replacement jet was provided.

    Germanwings Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Hamburg

    Germanwings flight 4U-7218 had to return and make an emergency landing in Hamburg, Germany, on January 29th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Stockholm, Sweden, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported an unidentified odor on board.

    The plane landed back uneventfully.

    Three passengers were taken to hospitals with respiratory problems while several others were treated at the airport.
