    Pilot Killed in Military Plane Crash in California

    A military plane crashed in a field near Naval Station Ventura County in California, at around 5:15 p.m. on October 29.

    The single-seat Hawker Hunter MK.58 aircraft crashed while it was preparing to land at the Naval Station, after returning from an offshore training exercise.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed at the spot. No one on the ground was injured.

    The British-built plane is registered to Virginia based Airborne Tactical Advantage Co., which provides flight training to the military.

    The FAA and the NTSB are looking into the cause of accident.

    Denver Bound Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Potential Security Threat

    DeltaDelta Airlines flight 1500 received a potential security threat, after which it was landed and sent to a remote location on Denver International Airport on April 18.

    The flight, carrying 151 passengers and 6 crew members, was headed from Detroit to Denver when the authorities received a potential threat. While the nature of the threat is not clear, some sources report that one of the flight attendants on board saw a written note mentioning a ‘bomb’ in the plane.

    The plane safely landed at Denver International Airport at about 4:40pm and was taken to a remote taxiway. The passengers were immediately taken to a separate place where the FBI investigated them.

    By 10pm, all the passengers and crew members were cleared by the FBI and no arrests were made.

    According to the FBI spokesman Dave Joly, “We currently do not believe a creditable threat existed to the flight….The majority of the Delta Flight 1500 passengers have been allowed to claim their luggage and continue with their travel plans.”

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Memphis after Bird Strike

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-2570 made an emergency landing in Memphis, Tennessee, on December 5th.

    The plane took off for Atlanta, Georgia, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a bird strike.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 144 passengers and 5 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    ATA Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Bird Strike

    ATA Airlines flight I3-6636 made an emergency landing in Tabriz, Iran, on September 12th.

    The plane took off for Baku, Azerbaijan, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Envoy Air flight MQ-3373 had to return for an emergency landing in Miami, Florida, on January 13th.

    The plane took off for Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Kentucky, but had to turn back after the crew reported a landing gear problem.
