United Airlines flight UA-1696 ran into turbulence while heading to Seattle, Washington, on May 21st.
Authorities confirmed that the plane, flying from Newark, New Jersey, encountered turbulence that injured a flight attendant.
The plane landed uneventfully in Seattle.
A medical helicopter had to make an emergency landing near Interstate 20 and FM 126 in Merkel, Texas, at around 7:45 p.m. on November 11.
The pilot was forced to land in emergency after a bird hit the helicopter, which was transporting a patient from Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene to Lubbock Covenent Hospital, Lubbock at the time.
The Air Evac chopper landed safely. Authorities said that a flight nurse received minor injuries in the accident and was given medical assistance at the scene.
Another Air Evac helicopter was sent from Eastland to resume the flight. The patient had to face a delay of about 1 hour.
Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-37 made an emergency landing in Oakland, California, on October 22nd.
The Airbus A321-200N plane heading from San Diego, California, to Kahului, Hawaii, was diverted after the crew received indication of an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy-eight passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.
Eurowings flight 4U-78 made an emergency landing at Cologne Bonn Airport, Germany, on June 12th.
The plane was heading to Leipzig, Germany, when smoke was noticed on the flight deck, prompting the crew to turn back.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
Etihad Airways flight EY-484 encountered turbulence on the way to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on January 30th.
The Boeing 787-900 plane was flying from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, when it hit turbulence that injured several people on-board.
The plane continued for a safe landing.
A helicopter crashed into a building at 722 Alameda Drive, near Orlando Executive Airport in Orlando, Florida, at around 2:15 p.m. on March 22.
Authorities said the Robinson R44 helicopter took off from Orlando Executive Airport but crashed shortly afterwards into a two-story garage apartment, sparking fire.
According to Orlando police Sgt. Wanda Ford, “We don’t know what caused the accident… We just know the helicopter did go inside the guest house and thankfully there were no residents inside.”
All 3 occupants of the aircraft were killed in the crash. They were identified as the pilot Bruce Teitelbaum, his wife Marsha Khan and a friend Harry Anderson.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
A twin engine prop plane made an emergency landing near the 7900 block of Palmetto Park Road in West Boca Raton, Florida, on February 28.
Authorities said the plane was headed to Pompano Beach when it experienced engine problems and had to land in emergency.
According to Albert Borroto, the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer, “The pilot did an excellent job landing on the canal bank, missing power lines and setting the aircraft down without hitting any surrounding populated areas and not injuring himself.”
