    FAA Airworthiness Directive Regarding Boeing 787-8

    All Boeing 787 Dreamliners currently in service are being required to confirm that fuel line connectors have been properly installed. Fuel leaks in Dreamliners were traced to a manufacturing flaw at Boeing plants.

    The FAA said “A safety order mandated inspection of fuel line couplings in the engine pylons to verify the couplings are correctly assembled and installed”

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Arkansas

    American Airlines flight AA-1129 had to make an emergency landing in Little Rock, Arkansas, on December 15th.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-82 plane was flying from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, to Indianapolis, Indiana, when a passenger’s e-cigarette overheated and started emitting smoke.

    The crew diverted the plane to Little Rock where it landed safely.

    All 137 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Two Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Texas

    A single-engine plane crashed immediately after take off from Elmdale Airpark in Abilene, Texas, on March 1st.

    Authorities said the two-seater Vans RV-6 experimental aircraft went down near the end of the runway.

    There were two people aboard at the time; Both of them were killed in the crash. They were identified as James Estol Hathcock, 63, and Aaron T. Taylor, 33, both of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Iran Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    Iran Air flight IR-724 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 14th.

    The Airbus A300-600 plane took off for Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport, Iran, but had to turn back due to technical issues.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All one hundred and eighty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

    TAROM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Bucharest

    TAROMTAROM flight RO-361 made an emergency landing in Bucharest, Romania, on September 30th.

    The plane took off for Amsterdam, Netherlands, but had to turn back after the crew reported a burning odor on-board.

    The plane landed safely. All 117 people aboard remained unhurt.

    Small Plane Crashed Near Sebring Regional Airport; 2 Killed

    A small plane crashed in a grassy area near Sebring Regional Airport in Florida at around 11 a.m. on January 16.

    It is believed that the pilot and the co-pilot were flying to attend the annual U.S. Sport Aviation Expo. in Sebring.

    Authorities said both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. They were identified as Dennis Gordon Day, 56, of Groveland, Florida and Jason Reid Spinks, 44, of Orlando.

    The NTSB and the FAA were informed.
