    EasyJet Plane Diverts to Italy due to Medical Emergency

    EasyjetEasyJet flight EZY5461 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Venice Marco Polo Airport, Italy, on October 10.

    The plane, en-route to Heraklion, Greece, from Gatwick Airport, London, UK, had to be diverted after the pilot started feeling ill and lost consciousness mid-air.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    No injuries were reported.

    Air Canada Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Geneva

    Air Canada flight AC-835 made an emergency landing in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 10th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Montreal, Canada, but had to turn back after black smoke was seen coming out of the left engine.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Jet Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Delhi after Pilot Fell Sick

    Jet AirwaysJet Airways flight 9W-063 landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India under emergency conditions on May 7.

    The plane was en-route from Bangkok to Delhi when the pilot fell sick and the co-pilot had to take over the controls. According to an airline spokesperson, “The Captain was being looked after by a Doctor that was traveling as a passenger on board the flight. The first officer was assisted by another Jet Airways Captain that was positioning as a passenger from Bangkok to Delhi.”

    The plane, carrying around 200 people, landed safely.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Ramp Agent Fell Asleep in Cargo Hold of LA-Bound Alaska Airlines Plane

    Alaska AirlinesAlaska Airlines flight 448 was forced to return and make an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on April 13.

    The plane took off for Los Angeles but had to return immediately after the pilot reported unusual banging noise.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. All 170 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline said a ramp agent was found inside the front cargo hold of the aircraft. The agent said he had fallen asleep.

    The ramp agent was taken to hospital as a precaution while the aircraft resumed the flight.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Washington County Pasture

    emergencyAn abandoned small plane was found in a pasture in Washington County, Oregon, on January 5th.

    Authorities said the land-owner found the aircraft when he went to feed his cattle in the pasture.

    The troopers contacted the pilot who told them he had to make an emergency landing due to mechanical issues and that he was not injured. He said he was making arrangements to bring a mechanic to the plane.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Iceland

    United Airlines flight UA-938 made an emergency landing in Keflavik, Iceland, on March 25th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to Heathrow Airport, England, was diverted due to indication of issues with the fuel system.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy-eight passengers and eleven crew members remained unharmed.
