    Four Injured After Jakarta-Bound Batik Air Flight Hits Turbulence

    Batik Air flight ID-6575 encountered turbulence on the way to Jakarta, Indonesia, on January 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane was flying from Surabaya, Indonesia, when it hit turbulence that injured two passengers and two crew members.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. The injured were taken to a hospital.

    EasyJet Flight Diverts to Germany due to Smoke in Cockpit

    EasyJet flight U2-1466 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Hanover, Germany, on October 15th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Geneva, Switzerland, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-five people aboard remained unharmed.

    What: Northwest Airlines Boeing 747-400 Manila (Philippines) to Tokyo Narita (Japan)
    Where: NARITA, JP
    When: 02/20/2009
    Who: 408 passengers and 14 crew
    Why: 30 minutes prior to landing with seatbelt signs turned on, the airplane encountered severe turbulence. The plane dropped abruptly from 15000 feet. Some passengers not yet buckled in were thrown out of their seats and struck the ceiling resulting in a couple of injuries. 43 passengers were distressed enough to go to the hospital. Only one passenger sustained a neck fracture; two injuries were minor.

    SOUTH NARITA, JAPAN, NWA2 ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURBULENCE AT 15000.

    Air France Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Nova Scotia

    Air FranceAir France flight AF55 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Nova Scotia, Canada, on November 17.

    The plane was en-route from Washington, D.C. to Paris when the authorities received an anonymous bomb threat and decided to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 262 passengers remained safe.

    No explosives were found upon inspection.

    Shaheen Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lahore

    Shaheen Air flight NL-766 had to return and make an emergency landing in Lahore, Pakistan, on August 16th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a cabin pressurization issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Aero Bravo 700 Agrícola Crashes in Perolândia, Goiás Brazil


    On April 5, 2013, an Aero Bravo 700 Agrícola spraying insecticide near the city of Perolândia crashed near GO-050 highway. The company was Planeta Viação Agrícolas. The fatal flight was to be the last run of the day.

    The plane had been spraying a cornfield when it crashed and caught on fire. Farm workers put out the fire, but not in time to save the young pilot, who suffered broken bones and severe burns.

    The cropduster was demolished.

    The Jataí Fire Department lieutenant Lourivaldo Ribeiro da Silva said the pilot had not been identified yet; and his body was taken to the Jataí Medical Legal Institute.

    The pilot has since been recognized as 25 year old Rivelino Rocha.
