    Finnair Flight Returns to Helsinki due to Technical Problem

    Finnair flight AY-73 made an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on October 19th.

    The Airbus A350-900 plane took off for Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, but had to turn back due to a technical problem.

    The plane heading from New York, to Ford Lauderdale, was diverted to when a passenger onboard suffered some medical issue.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    The sick passenger died shortly after landing.

    Libyan Airlines Flight Diverts to Benghazi due to Cracked Windshield

    Libyan Airlines flight UZ-90 diverted to Benghazi, Libya, on September 20th.

    The plane heading from Tripoli to Tobruk, Libya, was diverted after a crack was noticed in the first officer’s windshield.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    British Airways Flight Returns to London Heathrow

    British airwaysBritish Airways Flight 103 from London Heathrow airport, United Kingdom, to Calgary, Canada, had to return and make an emergency landing on the evening of August 12.

    Smoke was discovered in the cockpit of the Boeing 767 while it was flying over Liverpool. The pilot requested an emergency landing which was immediately granted.

    According to a British Airways spokesperson Michele Kropt, “It [the plane] landed safely and all passengers disembarked as normal.”

    She confirmed that the engineers were inspecting the aircraft to determine the cause of smoke.

    Alaska Airlines flight AS-176 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Ketchikan, Alaska, on April 18th.

    All Nippon Airways flight NH-558 made an emergency landing in Tokyo, Japan, on June 30th.

    The Boeing 787-800 plane flying from Hakodate, Japan, was on approach to Haneda Airport when the crew reported an engine issue.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All two hundred and eighty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.
