    Bird Forces Private Jet to make Emergency Landing at Dulles

    HawkerA private Hawker 800 jet made an emergency landing at runway 19-R of Washington Dulles International Airport in Sterling, Virginia, shortly before 12:30 pm on July 14.

    As per officials of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), the pilot declared emergency after a bird hit and damaged the aircraft.

    The plane landed safely but had to be towed off to the hanger due to damage to its under carriage and loss of hydraulic fluid.

    There were 2 people aboard at the time of accident; none of them was injured.

    The fire crews responded at the runway as a precaution step.

    Qeshm Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Iran

    Qeshm Air flight QB-1202 made an emergency landing in Mashhad, Iran, on February 16th.

    The plane flying from Tehran, Iran, was on final approach to Mashhad when the crew failed to fully deploy the landing gear.

    The plane subsequently performed a partial gear up landing.

    All one hundred and four people aboard remained unharmed.

    First Air Lands Safely at Iqaluit with One Engine Down

    Who: 13 on board
    Why: North East of Iqaluit, low oil forced pilots to shut down an engine. The pilot dropped to a lower altitude and landed safely at Iqaluit.

    Air France Flight Returns to Toulouse due to Engine Issue

    Air France flight AF-6123 had to return and make an emergency landing in Toulouse, France, on December 16th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Paris Orly Airport, France, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Flight Intercepted by Greek F-16 Fighter Jets

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-8957 was intercepted by two Greek F-16 fighter aircrafts on May 19th.

    According to the airline, the radio contact with Greek ATC was lost for a brief period of time when the Boeing 767-400, en-route from Frankfurt, Germany, to Kuwait, was transiting through Greek Airspace.

    The fighter jets returned to the airbase as the communication was restored.

    The flight continued to Kuwait.

    Hawaiian Airlines Oil Light Cuts Flight Short

    If you’re one of those drivers who ignores that oil light on your car’s dashboard when it goes off, then be glad you’re not a pilot. Pilots have the same light, and it can’t be ignored.

    It’s a good thing you’re not a pilot, then.

    258 passengers aboard a 10:30 a.m. Hawaiian Airlines A330 to Los Angeles were relieved to be back on the ground after the plane they were on developed engine problems and had to return to Honolulu.

    Fifteen minutes into the flight, the oil light went on. Pilots shut down the affected engine.

    Passengers caught the alternative flight at 11:15 a.m.
