What: Silk Way Airlines Illushin IL-76TD en route from Baku Azerbaijan to Bagram Air Force Base Afghanistan

Why: Carrying 18 tons of automobiles and trailers, the flight took off from Baku and lost radar contact 13.5 miles from Kabul. The plane struck a mountain near Akhshay in the Ghorband/Syahgerd district at 19:40 on Jul 5th. Eight bodies were recovered at 12,500 feet.
The cause of the crash is unknown. The distict chief of Siagerd stated publicly that there was a big explosion heard when the plane struck the mountain.
MAK, the Interstate Aviation Committee investigated the Mar 22nd crash of the Aviastar-TU Tupolev TU-204-100 ferry flight en route from Hurghada Egypt to Moscow, and banned it from operating as a passenger airline. On the day of the crash, after the flight control computer failed, the Tu-204 flew 700 feet left of the runway when it was landing. The pilot was found to have “poor training” on simulators that did not correspond with the plane. According to Flight Global, “the crew failed to execute a go-around.”
Before the wreckage was located off Greece’s Karpathos Island, search and rescue services picked up the ELT signal around 8:25, four hours after dawn. Greece reported two red and white plastic objects floating in the sea, and two orange objects, apparently life vests. Civilian ships are heading into the area to assist. France is assisting the search, with ships and aircraft. Several bodies were found floating in the area, according to RT.
The EgyptAir A320 disappeared May 18 over the Mediterranean.
When planes cross from one country’s airspace into another, the Air Traffic Control transition at those points is called the ‘hand-off.’ The crew was engaging with Greek ATC but when they attempted to hand the aircraft off to Egypt ATC, the crew made no response.
EgyptAir released that the crew was comprised of the captain, first officer, five cabin crew and three sky marshals. The passengers included 30 Egyptians, 15 French, 2 Iraqis, 1 British, 1 Belgian, 1 Kuwaiti, 1 Saudi, 1 Sudanese, 1 Chadian, 1 Portugese, 1 Algerian and 1 Canadian. The 56 passengers included three children.
Journalists have been barred by Airport security from the area in the Cairo airport where family and friends of the passengers are waiting.
So far, there have been no answers in the question of the Chinese built Xian MA-60 Merpati Nusantara Airlines plane which killed 27 people on board when it crashed in Kaimana, West Papua. The plane was moments from landing when it crashed.
There are questions concerning state-owned Merpati Airlines, the state financing, and the planes air-worthiness. There is a local call for the Finance Ministry to publish details of the plane’s purchase.
On Thursday, the black box data of the Chinese made plane was sent to China for decoding.
The Indonesian Aviation Industry suffers from a reputation of questionable safety.

What: Piper PA-23-250 Aztec F en route to Fort Pierce, Florida
Where: Near the Summerville airport, not far from the S.C. coast
When: 21-OCT-2009 6:45 am
Who: 4 on board; 4 fatalities
Why: The plane took off and then made an inexplicable U turn, and crashed in a wooded area near the Summerville airport and burned. Those on board included:
pilot Peter Radding of North Charleston;
passenger James Randolph Hargenradar of Summerville; passenger Edwin Steeble of Summerville
passenger Dallas Carter of Laurel, Del.
Witnesses say the engine didn’t sound right; and that they heard two explosions after the plane impacted the ground.
The individuals on board were en route to attend a ham radio competition in the Bahamas.
A small plane crashed in a soybean field near Leshara, Nebraska, on the afternoon of July 24th.
According to sources, two pilots were aboard the plane when it crashed.
Both the pilots were killed in the crash.
The cause of the crash has not been reported yet.
