    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, but had to turn back due to engine problems.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Atlanta

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2274 had to return for an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 18th.

    The plane took off for Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but had to turn back after the right engine emitted a loud bang.

    The crew had shut down the faulty engine before the plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Medical Helicopter Bird Strike

    Who: Pilot and 2 crew
    Why: After a bird strike, the medical helicopter had to make an emergency landing. The bird involved was a black vulture; and it came right through the windshield and struck the pilot in the chest.

    There were no injuries reported.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Ottawa Field

    A small Piper fixed-wing aircraft had to make an emergency landing in a field off Labette Road and Louisiana Road near Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, on January 19.

    It is believed that the pilot was forced to land in the field due to icy conditions.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were two people aboard at the time, including the pilot Robert Fenton, 67, of Olathe, and his passenger Donald Davis, 68, of Lenexa; both of them remained unharmed.

    KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    KLM flight KL-656 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 7th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane flying from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was on final approach to Amsterdam when the crew reported a hydraulic failure.
