Flight School Cessna and Military Piper Collision In Argentina
What: (Fuerza Aérea Argentina) Argentine Air Force Piper PA-A28-236 Dakota light aircraft Where: Mercedes Airport, Argentina When: 21-NOV-2011 09:45 LT Who: 2 fatalities Why: On approach to Mercedes Airport, an Argentine Air Force Piper PA-A28-236 Dakota collided with an aviation school Cessna 152.
Both the flight school crew members in the Cessna 150 were killed in the crash. The Piper PA-28 landed safely. The two military personnel aboard the Piper survived.
According to witness Boloni Eduardo, the Air Force plane cut the back of the Cessna with its propeller, causing it to fall
Firefighters, police, ambulance, Air Force, and Civil Aviation Accident Investigation Board were on the scene. Mercedes is a public air field with no control tower.

What: Amazonaves EMB-810C Seneca PT-EFS en route from Manaus to Santarem Where: Manaus When: April 21, 2011, 14:52 LT Who: 7 fatalities and a dog called Pimpolho Why: A minute after takeoff, an Amazonaves Air taxi which crashed at the threshold of the runway in the neighborhood of Tarumãt West Zone at 3 pm on Thursday had the owner, and his wife and son among those aboard. Antonio Neto Picão, his wife, Luciana, and a son, Matthew, 12 died in the crash and were buried in Boa Vista. Two daughters chose not to fly.
The four other fatalities were Pilot Waldeir Alencar da Silva,, Kelly Cidrônio, Janilça Oliveira Nascimento and Magno Souza. Santos was buried in Manaus, Alves in Minas Gerais and the two other passengers in Santarém. Janilsa and Magno Nascimento Souza were employees.
The cause of the crash has not been determined but Infraero confirmed that the plane was carrying 7 people, but only has a capacity for 5.
Serviço de Investigação de Acidentes Aeronáuticos (Seripa) expects a report in 30 days.
In 2002, an Amazonaves plane crashed in the Amazon;
In 2003, an Amazonaves crashed during a flight inspection;
In 2007, an Amazonaves crashed into a house in Manaus.
All of the crashes were determined to be due to mechanical failure.
The two engines and propellers of the Amazonaves Seneca (PT-EFS) will be sent to Sao Paulo where they will undergo deconstruction to be examined for signs of defect.

What: Yute Air Cessna 207 air taxi Where: Fifteen miles from the Yup’ik village of Tuntutuliak, 40 miles from the Bering Sea Coast When: Wednesday November 18th, 2009 Who: pilot and 7 passengers Why: While en route, the engine lost oil pressure, then the single engine seized up. The pilot made an emergency landing in a dry lake bed, where those on board stayed together and inside to keep warm in the 6 degree below zero weather. A public safety person and volunteers in snowshoes and a snowmobile from the village hiked to the crash site and towed the some of the passengers, including two babies, to the village in a homemade sled; others were provided snow shoes. They defrosted in the village before returning to Bethel on to two Yute Air planes.

A single engine Cessna 182G crashed in a field near Cattle Creek Road and the Rio Grande Trail in Carbondale, Colorado, on September 27.
Authorities said the plane went down shortly after taking off from Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport. According to witnesses, the plane seemed to be experiencing engine issues before it crashed.
There were 2 people aboard at the time; both of them were injured and were shifted to Valley View Hospital. They were identified as the pilot Benoit de la Vaissiere and his passenger Dmitre.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the aircraft’s owner is “responsible for the salvage and reclamation of the airplane from the site.”

A helicopter failed to return from a flight on May 24 2013 in Missouri. The flight took off at 5:45 p.m.
The Lucas Oil Products-owned helicopter was located crashed, and two people died in the crash.
The NTSB will arrive on site Sunday to begin the investigation. The pilot was flying passenger 21-yearold Missouri State University student Catalina Richard around the perimeter of a Lucas Oil Speedway event. The pilot’s name has hot been released as of this posting.
The helicopter crashed in rural Cross Timbers Missouri.

What: Private Cessna Where: Annino, Russia When: August 22, 2012 Who: 2 aboard, 2 fatalities Why: The light aircraft crashed and fell not far from St. Petersberg. The two pilots, 1st pilot Victor Ignatiev and 2nd pilot Alexei Syrchin died in the crash near the village of Annino.
The pilots were taking the plane out just prior to a routine certification test. The pilots were attempted to land because they experienced engine problems, but they did not reach the runway and the plane impacted in the yard of a village kindergarten. No children were in the yard at the time of the crash.
The plane ignited on impact. One pilot was ejected, and one is locked in the cockpit.
42 people and 20 vehicles were involved in the rescue/recovery effort.
The plane had undergone repairs in Poland in 2007.

What: Mooney M20M en route from Grand Rapids to Traverse City Where: northwestern Randolph County three miles east of Albany When: Wednesday at 12:43 p.m. Who: David J. Eyde Why: Speculation is that Eyde lost consciousness of hypoxia while flying over Michigan, the crisis somehow involving the plane’s air supply at 23000 feet. Air National Guard pilots could see the pilot, unconscious in the cockpit. The plane flew till it’s 4 hours of fuel ran out.
