    Where: Wray
    When: Jun 9 2010
    Why: While en route, the system indicated an overheat. The crew returned to Phoenix where they made a safe landing. A replacement jet was provided for passengers.

    Not that it applies, but the Thursday high for Phoenix was 102 o.

    What: ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 767-300 en route from Singapore to Tokyo
    Where: South China Sea
    When: Oct 9th 2011
    Who: 176 passengers and 10 crew
    Why: During breakfast, the flight encountered turbulence which injured five aboard. Those injured included three of the crew.

    Wake turbulence has been suggested. If so, details will show up in the investigation.

    The flight made a safe landing in Tokyo.

    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

    JetBlue flight B6-1095 had to return and make an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 6th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, but had to turn back after a foul odor was noticed on-board, causing passengers and crew members to feel sick.

    The plane landed safely. Medical teams examined several passengers at the airport.

    What: Ural Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Bourgas to Ekaterinburg
    Where: Ekaterinburg
    When: Jul 19. 2011 0:20 Moscow time
    Who: 119 passengers
    Why: While en route from Bourgas to Ekaterinburg, the plane developed a hydraulic problem. (Specific details about the hydraulic problem have not been released.)

    The flight continued to Koltsovo Airport in the Urals where it made a safe landing.

    Rossiya Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Cracked Windshield

    Rossiya Airlines flight SU-6891 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on February 2nd.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Simferopol, Crimean Peninsula, to Saint Petersburg, Russia, was diverted due to a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Airbus Lost at Sea

    What: Airbus A320 maintenance flight leased by Germany charter airline XL Airways and was due to return to service for Air New Zealand next month; flying from Perpignan airport
    Where: off France’s southern coast in the Mediterranean as it was approaching the Perpignan airport
    When:
    Who: 7 on board: Two German pilots, Another pilot and three engineers from Air New Zealand were also on board, as well as an aircraft inspector from the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority. 2 bodies were recovered at sea
    Why: 150-passenger plane, which was delivered to Air New Zealand in July 2005, had accumulated approximately 7,000 flight hours. The plane is in several pieces. A search is underway for the flight data boxes.
