    Azerbaijan Airlines Flight Returns to Istanbul After Bird Strike

    Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-80 had to return and make an emergency landing in Istanbul, Turkey, on June 2nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Baku, Azerbaijan, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Frontier Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport

    Frontier Airlines flight F9-1674 made an emergency landing at Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, on August 15th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Orlando, Florida, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was diverted due to an unknown odor in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. Seven passengers and a crew member were treated by the medical teams at the airport. Two passengers and a flight attendant were later taken to hospital.

    What: SATA Internacional Airbus A320-200 en route from Ponta Delgada to Lisbon.
    Where: Lisbon
    When: Aug 6th 2009
    Who: not available
    Why: The flight had such a hard touch down that it caused substantial landing gear damage, and several rivets separated from the wing.

    The plane involved became part of the SATA fleet on May 9. It is unclear if the flight involved was flying from Funchal or Ponta Delgada; and the date also is reportedly either the 5th or the 6th.

    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Bermuda

    JetBlueA JetBlue flight had to divert and make an emergency landing at LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda, on August 26th.

    The incident happened when the Airbus A320, carrying 94 people, was heading from Boston to Puerto Rico.

    According to a Department of Marine and Port Services report, “A 51-year-old female passenger was experiencing oxygen tank problems and required assistance while the aircraft crew reported mechanical problems with the cockpit floor suffering distortion suspected to be caused by heat.”

    The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Airbus Nose Gear Issue in SF

    Where: on far approach to San Francisco
    When: May 5th 2009
    Why: After reporting nose gear issues, the airbus was towed off the runway after landing, and it’s return flight was cancelled.

    Cathay Pacific Flight Suffers Lightning Strike Near Copenhagen

    Cathay Pacific flight CX-227 suffered a lightning strike near Copenhagen, Denmark, on September 24th.

    The incident happened when the Airbus A350-900 plane flying from Hong Kong, China, was on approach to Copenhagen.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
